Go to truecar.com showing $23,794 now. Judging by how fast the prices are coming down and how the stock is building up, I'd say you're about a month away from $1,000 off sticker.

Update on my New Prius Purchase:
Thanks to everyone for their advice on purchasing. It seems that Prius prices in the bay area have come down dramatically in the past week. After waiting 3 months to purchase, I was able to purchase a new Prius Two for $23,600 which was $1100 under MSRP (approximately invoice price). I called a number of other dealers in the area and three of them were willing to match the price and several others just said it was a good price.

So for everyone out there frustrated with Prius pricing, the inventories have finally built up and dealers are discounting again. I'm sure it will continue to get much cheaper.

Happy to be another Prius owner!

Congrats! I couldn't take it anymore and ordered a Ford Focus- BUT that will take at least 6 weeks to come in. I figure another week or 2 of these expected drastic price cuts and I may just end up with a Prius myself.

So funny how a month ago, when we all read about production ramping up all the dealers still would tell me they would not have stock for months. I guess they needed to hide the real fact and try to make that inflated money while they could.

WOW, That's great. I guess I will call my dealer and negotiate a better deal. He gave me $700 off on the package II, I will try $1k.

I'm not sure how much I really believe it, but they all said that they would do a better deal now because it was the end of the month??

Update: I just had another dealer in the San Francisco bay area email me today and offer $100 less which is $1200 under MSRP and $100 under invoice for the same Prius Two. Unfortunately I had to tell him he was too late. Good luck to everyone negotiating out there and don't believe any dealer who tells you they can't sell the car at invoice price.

For sure I will use the fact you have a deal like that to put pressure on them. It looks like inventories are pretty good all over the place and they will need to move those cars. I think many dealers believed because of the short supply few weeks/months ago, the demand for the Prius would be high for many months and the current production would not keep up with. I guess that's not true anymore and in just few weeks game changed in favor of the consumer. ;)

Just went to a dealer in Santa Monica, Ca today. They had so many Prius in stock it actually took up all of the customer parking. The salesperson said, "Pick any color you want - we have tons of them in every trim level"

Prices are only going to go lower. My goal is to get it close to last years prices of around 22,200 or so.

Good luck. That is a good goal and may be realistic in a few months.

The Santa Monica dealer advertised today that they had 78 new Prii for sale, but no 5's in the list, I guess the balance has been restored ( at least in So. Cal.);)

Just got mine this week for $700 off MSRP in SoCal. They also end up getting me an additional 1 point lower than what I could get on financing outside a dealer. So in the end it was like $1300 in savings(bellow MSRP).
I am sure in another two weeks these prices will be lower but I just could not wait any longer. Love the car! so far 42mpg, in comparison to my Acura MDX (15mpg) Shocker!

Guy- I hope so! I can't wait much longer but really hoping to get it below the $23,000 mark so I can use my loan. Seeing how many Prius there are now in SoCal- I think it's possible.

I just bought my Prius 3 (southern CA), blue/grey, no nav, with floormats, for $170 over invoice. $24,351. Prices are definitely coming down, a month ago no one would go below MSRP, and in another month I'm sure it won't be too tough to get invoice. Feel free to PM me if you want details on how/where I got this price. I am thrilled!

    P.S. first post!

I'm looking for Fours (IV) with Solar in Silver and they are extremely rare if not impossible to find in Northern NJ. True Car has the best price on the Two (II) at $24,674 in my area and I went to a reputable dealer about 3 weeks ago and they wouldn't budge off of MSRP. What they did was move some numbers around my trade in, but nothing spectacular and I walked.

    Hi All,

Need some advice. I put in an order for Prius Blue with Bisque interior back in end of May and my sales rep finally stated that its the way nowm but no ETA. Back in end of May, the going price was MSRP - 24,280. So my question is can I re-negotiate since the prices seem to be dipping now? I don't believe I will lose the deposite as the sales rep had stated that it is fully refundable back in May. Thank you.
