They are lying. I bought in early January, and didn't get stickers.

Does anybody know if it is possible to transfer a sticker from an older Prius to a new one? It would seem that the state has nothing to lose on that, even if they decide not to increase the number of stickers. I would think that the Toyota dealers would figure that they are going to lose sales if they do not get transfers approved. I figure that my 2006 with a sticker is a better car than the 2007 without a sticker. I took care of my "leather envy" by having my interior redone with leather for $1200 at the dealer.

    Hi all,
We just bought a new Prius this past weekend and love it. We were disappointed to learn that all of the stickers were gone, but that wasn't the reason we bought the car. That being said, I would like to see more stickers made available.

I emailed my state Assembywoman and state Senator, as well the Governor. Has everyone else done the same? Is there a petition going around that I could sign?

    thanks,
    kman

    Short answer, no.
    From the DMV web site:
All Clean Air Stickers remain with the vehicle they were originally issued to and cannot be transferred to any other vehicle. If you purchase a vehicle that has a Clean Air Sticker you may transfer the sticker to your name.

You live in the land of lawsuits, time to jump on board. They sound pretty adamant about it - bait them with another potential sale, get it in writing and fire away.

Yeah, that will fly if THEY put it in writing. I'll bet there's a 'no verbal repsentations' clause in the contract (integration).
