That decal included with the first few Classic models delivered in the United States back in 2000 has been patiently waiting for me to use. Looks like the time has finally come. It seems fitting now. My PHV is among those 112 listed.

lol, I forgot all about that. I got that decal when I bought my prius in 2003, but I never put it on, pretty sure its still out in my garage somewhere...

 

My Dealer just called me to say my plug in is in their inventory and expect delivery mid April. my order number is 0195

 

My confirmation number is 1700 and Dianne confirmed my build date is next week (1/30-2/3)

Edit: her email actually said the build week is 1/30-2/6. I updated my build date on the spreadsheet

 

I just spoke with my dealer in the DC area and they are not seeing any PiP in their system at all. Strange... Would it be that only West coast dealers will be part of the first batch?

It's only 1.5 miles, and it's Kansas, so even at 111F I am just starting to glow upon arrival. For exercise riding, 111F is not advised. A fellow (younger, fitter, and on a shorter ride than me) near me died this summer on a 102F day on which I rode 62.4 miles.

 

But back on topic, I am way jealous of 112 people! Have thought of going to Virginia or Arizona to get an early Plug-in, but I most likely will wait.

 

My order number is 114, I would expect to be in the first batch.

I hope it is just an issue with the dealer's system. Hopefully we'll be getting confirmation e-mails straight from Toyota soon.

 

My number is 282 and 1700 is among the first to get built? He didn't get his order confirmed for several hours according to the spreadsheet! Don't try to understand that. You will just get a sore spot in your brain. Our cars will be built before long. If the factory has a little more experience, maybe ours will be a little better.

 

Actually, I was thinking quite the opposite. I figure the first week of production will have a lot of eyes on the job, bosses and managers looking over shoulders and what not

I'm sure the system is working as intended and firmly ground in logic. Looking at your confirmation time, I would even wager yours is surely being built before mine. But whether or not that is communicated to you is an entirely different matter. I think most people here know Dianne is on the ball and I appreciate that very much. :cheer2:

 

Is build week even the key metric to compare? How many weeks of production fit on a freighter? I presume West coast deliveries will be before those that need to be shipped cross-continent even in the same freighter load.

 

I just got a call from my dealer, they now have visibility over the inventory:

- Feb 3: Production starts
- March 7 (plus or minus a week): car ships
- April 1: expected delivery in DC

I emailed my dealer this morning and I got the following info (I'm order #84 and on the spreadsheet):
- Production scheduled for 2/10
- Shipping scheduled for 2/15
- Arrival at dealership in MD around 3/23

 

Congratulations Dianne , You are a inspiration and a supreme example to everybody involved in retail marketing. You are sincerely interested and enthusiastic in coodinating and expediting sales for Toyota. It is most unfortutionate that Toyate cannot match your efforts.
