Jolt when taking off from dead stop

    Can someone post a link to a picture or illustration that shows where this handhole is? I was going to change the oil next week, and since my car does jerk a little when the motor starts or stops when the vehicle isn't moving, perhaps I should have a look as long as I'm under the car anyway.

    The only access point I saw in the general vicinity was covered with a plastic plate, pointed to by the red arrow in this picture. This view is from just anterior to the oil pan (visible in the upper left corner) looking towards the driver's side front tire and up a little.

    Is that what you were referring to? I didn't pry it off to see what was underneath because that plastic is 17 years old and it was too likely the little prongs that are (probably) holding it in place would have snapped off.

    That's the one I was thinking of. If any prongs snap off, it can probably be gooped back on with urethane or whatever. It's not really a highly-engineered application....
