The Michelin Energy line is also pretty good. I forget what the current models are.

I was thinking about that, but it didn't come up in my Tire Rack search under the parameters I used (all-season with a priority of 4 for each ranking). This tire was in 3rd place extremely close to a Michelin and a Goodyear that were about $40 more per tire.

Looks like the price hasn’t gone up in 3.5 years:).

Now if I keep our 2010 long enough to see another set of tires;).

That Prime itch is kickin in again(y).

I just took my PRIME for the last Toyota Care free service at my dealer. I had my winter tires and rims changed to OEM tires and rims in lieu of tire rotation. My OEM tire is Dunlop Enasaver. They have ~22K on them, and still looking OK with 6/32 in the front and 5/32 in the rear. The tire has only 8/32 tread when new, so I should be OK for another 10~20K down to 3~4/32 for summer drives. Then, I will be needing a new set next year. Having a winter set of tire gives me plenty of time to look for the best sale and deal. I was thinking of trying Hankook Kinergy PT tires for a while but haven't decided yet. It has impressive 90K miles tread warranty.

Rumour out of Europe is that the refresh will get 5 seats and the Bird’s Eye View 360° camera.

Again, I’d wait for the redesign in another 3 years. (2023 MY)

    If I only could:whistle:.

That birds eye feature is fantastic. When we were buying the wife’s RX450h, we test drove a RAV4 hybrid that had that feature:).

Very nice tech for those that can wait(y).

Which of the 3 variations? Japan, Mexico or US made? They all have the same name but are not the same tire.

Yup. I couldn’t lol. I wanted to, hoping that 2019 was the midlife update year.

I’ve agreed in principle to sell ours:).

But the transaction won’t happen until the end of April;).

So now begins the fun of trying to pick between Hypersonic Red and Blue Magnetism (y).

    *cough* Hypersonic *cough*. :D

Note that the 2019 Prius changed the red to supersonic red (it’s much brighter) so there’s a possibility that the 2020 Prime will change the red too.

    Exciting stuff!!

I really like this red. (Unfortunately, every bird in Pasco Country thinks it's a perfect place to take a dump!!) If it had happened to be that the only color Prime Todd had was the blue magnetism, I'd have been happy with that, too, and my wife would have been even happier. I admit that the blue is really striking and there are lots of red cars out there. None of the various monochromatic colors do anything for me at all, though. I probably would have waited for red or blue. :)

When we bought our 2010 in 2009 it was between Barcelona Red and the Blue Water metallic (@Tideland Prius had that color).

This round though I’ll start out with the clear bra and not do the Le Bra ;).

The wife’s RX450h looks great with the clear protective film and I’ll be tinting the Windows too. Hyper Optik is at the tops of the list:).

I’m not a fan of the other colors either. Too many of them around(y).

I just remembered something that I was going to tell you about. I don't know if anyone has noticed this about the light weight tonneau cover. I discovered a little trick yesterday. It's natural to put the loops at the front over the "T"s such that the cover sits below the "T." But you can do the opposite and have it above the "T" which gives about a half inch more vertical space under the cover. It felt awkward doing that, but I like the results. It's up closer to the top of the rear seat backs.

Another consideration might be the interior. When I bought ours I knew I wanted the Blizzard Pearl and the Advanced model. I had never seen one and did my research online as Toyota wasn't officially selling them in our state. I found one about 60 miles from home, test drove it and bought it on the spot. It has the black interior. I later saw one with the white and black interior and now think I would have preferred that.

I notice my cover tends to come unhooked there. Perhaps putting it on top could lessen that.

I noticed last night that even with it on top of the hook, it can slip back around to the hanging position. I might try keeping the loop tight with a bread wrapper twisty tie so it can't do that. I rarely remove the thing, so it's wouldn't be much of a bother. Then again, it's really not a big deal anyway. As we've seen, it does conform easily to the stuff that pokes it. :D

I'm lazy too. If I need to remove it for something larger, many times I just put it behind the front seats.

Does the Prius 2 have pockets on the backs of the front seats? That looks like a handy place for that. My windshield sunshade folds up like the cargo cover and I slip it between my seat back and the center console.

Hard to beat the Michelin Defender bought at Costco with the promotion. $15. ea for lifetime road hazard, balance and rotation included. Plus there are Costco stores everywhere.
