Hey Rodney.. I am planning on wrapping my entire roof in a few days.. Since I deleted my rear wiper I also want to delete my rear windshield washer nozzle. Since u didn't plug the hole and wrapped over the hole, did you eventually see a dip where the hole was?

And how do you pry off the weatherstripping? I no longer have a solar roof, so my weather stripping goes all the way across the whole roof.

Thanks in advanced!! Your DIYs have saved me a lot of headaches!! :)

    HELLO BZYRICE !!!

In regards to the Windshield Washer Nozzle Hole : I wrapped the material pretty tight so that there is no depression visible. Also depending on the thickness of the material you use, results may vary.

In regards to the Weatherstripping : Unfortunately, I am unaware on how to pry this off as I do have the solar roof. You may want to contact your local Toyota Dealership Parts department and ask how to remove this.

    Hope this helps !!!

HAPPY MONDAY PRIUS CHAT FOLKS !!!

    :):):):)

A great part of last weekend was spent getting some new modifications done to the HBII ride : LED Lighting Weekend !!!

    01. Switched the 5K Footwell Lighting to 6K
    02. Installation of the Stainless Steel Illuminated 4 Door Sill Scuff Plates (Purchased from eBay)

    Let's Begin !!!

Recently I installed 6K LED Lighting for the Interior Door Handles, Cup Holders, and Speaker Enclosures. This did not match with the existing 5K LED Footwell Lighting. And so, I switched them out.

Comparison of 5K (Driver Side) with the 6K (Passenger Side)
5K lighting is closer to a Natural White as the 6K lighting is closer to a Polar White.

    Completed Installation

I had switched out the Under Console 5K Led Lighting with 6k Lighting, and added a second LED light Fore and Aft ...

I had also installed lighting for the Lower Glove Compartment

All Finished, now everything Matches !!!

The following day I had a chance to install a Christmas Gift that I had received :

The Stainless Steel Illuminated 4 Door Sill Scuff Plates !!!

Here are my Installation Pix ...

    Existing Black Plastic Door Sill

    Removal of Plastic Inner Cover

    Removal of Outer Weather Stripping

To guide for exacting mounting location I used Carpenter's Blue tape to outline the original location of the Door Sill

    Removal of Inner Weather Stripping

Comparison of the Black Plastic and Stainless Steel Illuminated Sills

    Preparation for Wiring

For the 3M tape underneath, I removed one end of each strip and secured them to the other side. This will help properly adjust the mounting location prior to final desired mounting location.

I also located the semi-circular depression in the sill and insulated the channel with electric tape as I wanted to ensure there was no wire to metal contact ...

    Alignment

Re-installation of the 2 Weather Stripping and Stainless Steel Door Sill

Then it was time to Wire it all together !!!

I used insulated dual (+ and ground) wiring for the task

I didn't do a complete DIY for the installation as your installation may be dependent on how you would like yours wired. I had installed a switch for my installation instead of tapping into the Dome Light Feature.

Here are the Completed Pix !!!

    Front and Rear

Here are pictures of all the Recent LED Lighting projects that I have completed :

    Exterior 6K LED Door Handles

Interior 6K LED : Footwells, Under Console, Glove Compartment, Inner Door Handles, Cup Holders, Speaker Enclosures and ... Blue LED Stainless Steel 4 Door Sill Scuff Plates !!!

Overall I am very pleased with the latest Modifications !!!

The Blue LED's from the Stainless Steel Door Sills are pretty bright, perfect for a safe entry and exit.

More LED Modifications Coming Soon !!!

Have a Great Week Everyone !!!

HAPPY SATURDAY PRIUS CHAT FOLKS !!!

Had the opportunity to install another Mod on the HB II Ride :

The Black Chrome Window Trim !!!

Purchased from eBay, this made a great subtle accent to the Window Area.

Please Note : This is a 14 Piece Kit That Includes the Complete Window Surround. However because I have the JDM Window Visors, I did not use this part of the product for this installation.

    Here are my Pix !!!

**Prior to Installation, the Rubber Seal around the area must be free from dirt for proper 3M Tape adhesion. I used Rubbing Alcohol for this.**

    Installation

I used the Five Axis method of installation here :

Here are the best pictures I could take of the overall product. With the Black Chrome finish combined with the outdoor lighting it was tough to take some accurate shots representing them. They are best seen in person !!! These aren't made to stand out as shiny as Chrome !!!

Again Because I have the JDM window visors, the Black Chrome Window Trim helps to create a subtle upgrade matching them, without looking "incomplete" had I installed a full chrome trim.

    Have a Great Weekend !!!

    Hey Bzyrice !!!

Added some shots to the original post !!!

Again, because these are of the Black Chrome finish they aren't made to be as shiny and bright as regular chrome. I liked these because they don't stand out too much but just enough that accents the window area nicely in person !!!

    Hope this helps !!!

Happy Tuesday Prius Chat Folks !!!

    :):):):)

Caught Up on some New Mods for the HB II Ride over the weekend !!!

The latest installed is the Stainless Steel Rear Scuff Plate !!!

Ordered from eBay, this item was a great new addition to compliment the Stainless Steel Foot Sills in the Doorways !!! This however, is non-illuminated like the Door Sills but also offers protection in these delicate high traffic areas.

Here are my pictures from the installation !!!

    Modification of the Product

The Item came installed with 3M Tape.
However, I removed all of the strips as I wanted to use a thinner 3M tape and only wanted them to adhere to specific locations because I felt the fitment was better and that it rested smoother on the surface.

Overall I am pleased with this product. It has a nice Brushed Satin finish to it and is sturdy and durable. The edges have the rubber moulding to protect the edges. Both Center and Fore/Aft alignment was straightforward. This makes a great compliment to the other Stainless Steel / Chrome additions already on the Prius !!!

    Happy Modding Folks !!!

While the rear scuff plate is a nice looking product, it distracts from the clean line and shouldn't be installed on any modded Prius IMO. There's a fine line between keeping it clean and overdoing it with mods. The trick is not to cross it ;)

    HEY PRIUS CHAT FOLKS !!!

    :):):):)

I Installed another mod on the HBII ride yesterday ...

Chrome Surround for the JDM Door Mirror Winkers !!!

With the New SSR Wheels in the Titan Silver / Chrome Finish I wanted to accent the Prius with some Chrome Trim pieces including this !!!

This item makes a great compliment to an aftermarket Winker modification and provides a nice touch of chrome to accent !!!
