So his comparison will be based on PR, not reality.

The cooling off days of the fall should pull the 2016 averages up.

Fuelly should already be cutting out the outliers from a search.

How much has changed in the year between the Accord hybrids? The hiatus was partly because Honda was moving production.
The 2016 Sonata is a new design. Do we treat the Optima has the same or different?
The 2017 Ford Energis were tweaked for better fuel economy and EV range. Don't know if it also applies to the hybrids.

As far as MPG for the new models, I am going with Consumer Reports Highway MPG, which is probably not available for some of these cars. CR does have 2016 Prius (59 MPG Highway). For any 2016/2017 model which CR quotes MPG, they must feel the new model has been tested or is well-enough represented by the prior year version.

CR's numbers are about as useful as a single fill up on Fuelly, and Fuelly doesn't publicly list a car until it has three fills.

At least one of the auto magazines lists the temperature on the day of testing, so you have more info on whether their results will pertain to you.
Wayne Gerdes does steady state fuel economy at multiple speeds.
