No, it's easy. On a silver car you go gunmetal or silver (not chrome). Gunmetal on gray though is difficult because the shades are usually just a bit too unlike.

I absolutely agree with no chrome on silver, but my point is you can do practically any colors (bronze, silver, gunmetal, black) on Blizzard Pearl, Winter Gray, Black or Barcelona Red. With Silver, you're restricted to just gunmetal or silver as you said. No way you can put bronze on silver and have that look good.

Gunmetal can look good on gray even if they're unlike. Take the PLUS rims (which can look gunmetal or silver depending on lighting conditions) on Winter Gray for example. Go really well together.

Good point, those rims do look great on winter gray, and toyota uses that combo in their advertising.

Hey, how did you add images of the rims onto a photo of your car?... That's a pretty neat trick to visualize how the rims would look like... I'd like to see how different rims would look like on my car if it's not too difficult of a process.

    Photoshop.
You need a base layer with your car image.
Then create another layer with the brakes/rotors.
So now I had a base image of my car with the rims removed from the tires, revealing the brakes and rotors. So from this point it's real easy to copy the stock images of the wheels (the actual wheel images i posted above each car pic), delete all the white, and size them down and stick them over the layers i created previously. In my file, each wheel design is on its own layer.

Except for the last pic with the Motegi FF7 rims. I found a google image of those on another car so I just copy/pasted from that image since it included the brakes too.

Wow, that sounds way above my Photoshop skills... Props to you though... That's a really cool thing to be able to do.

That's like a cross between the Momo Next and Focal F10. I like it but I'm not sure about how well the gray center would go with WGM. It'd be nice if it had the PPP wheel finish.

In fact, why don't you get the Plus rims? They look perfect on WGM.

Ya, i really like the PPP rims.
Who wants to sell me their's at a hefty discount? :D
Not sure I really want to pay $350 per wheel.

Even the stock 17s are a hot commodity so sell them to make up for the difference. Or just keep them until you can find a good deal on the PPP rims (as chiefseattleprius did).

    Same as the PPP wheels.

  16. Yeah, if you can find someone crazy enough to sell the PPP rims at a discount grab them (like I did). I was actually willing to pay full price for the PPP rims since I was able to make a decent amount on my 2 sets of tC rims. Nothing wrong with the OEM 17s....but with WGM it's no contest.

What do you think is a fair price for the OEM 17" wheels, that would make them a good deal/sell quick, but not too cheap? No TPMS or tires, just the wheels.

  18. I've seen some listings here in Seattle range from $1000-1200. No tires, no sensors.

Damn, that's a bit spendy. But they will look damn good. Congrats.
