Is the Silverado a hybrid or not?

My perspective: It is a start, but for a company with vast technology and engineering resources the concept is about 7 years behind schedule and is now outdated. GM, like them or hate them, could have and should have done much better. Displacement on demand has been around since 1981 but instead of further refining it and ironing out the bugs, it was simply dropped. Look at all of the technology from the EV-1 which could have been applied. All the pieces to the puzzle are there, unfortunately the people at the top don't appear to know how to put them together. Another opportunity lost, and we will now witness another 5 year catch-up plan that will be too little too late.

 

does anyone know could this Silverado regenerate energy while deceleration or braking? If it could I will say it's some kind of series hybrid vehicle IMHO
