I didn't mind it either. Still don't quite understand why it failed so miserably.

The question is that while there are similarities ("edged" up dull car) is it going to be decremental to Gen4 success?

What is fact? A repetition of someone's else option ;)

    Seriously?

No. Toyota is going to sell a LOT of Gen 4 Prius at a level Pontiac could only dream of with Aztek

Has a car ever existed that you like, Cyclo? Seriously? Which one?

Follow up question: why do you continue to troll a forum dedicated to a car in which thread after thread you have expressed your undying contempt?

Don't forget the Yugo. How many other cars can say that they were blown off of the Mackinac bridge?

The Pontiac Aztek was unpleasant in any color from any angle.
I do not think the Gen 4 is unpleasant from every angle and I doubt that every color is equally 'wrong'

For REAL ugly go with the fiat multipla [IMG]
That improves the looks of every Aztek ever made.

    Aztek was horrible design.

I saw Fiat Multipla the other day, and car looked normal on the road... I guess it was way ahead of its time. Reason it looked "fine" now is that design was done that way to increase functionality. Aztek was designed horribly just because it was cheaper than to do what concept car had.

Fiat facelifted the weird front at some point in mid-2000's

As to new Prius, it looks great in the side profile to me, but at some angles front and rear bumpers look weird... I will have to see it in person to decide if I like it overall or not. I think in the end, big front windows designed to help visibility will be the least likable part for me.

I agree with them that Prius should be unique looking. G2 was also uniquely designed, and most people said it was ugly when it was just introduced while G3 was most normal of the bunch and today looks like any other car on the road. Thing is that no matter what you do, it will become normal looking after few years and Prius should not look like any other vehicle.

Well functionally Gen3 had issues that long slopping window could not be defogged in the snow, and air carrier-sized dashboard in black was a sun magnet. And A-pillars were blocking view completely in moderate turns. So lowered hood and windshield angle change are welcome functional changes.

G3 had really good proportions, right height to length and overall profile. The side edge extending line from head to tail lights was attractive in it's simplicity, rear-bias hump was functional as it gave more rear headroom and better rear mirror view (issue on say Prius C).

Gen4 tail fin monstrosity and superficial edges in headlight area do not add to anything. They look like afterthought, and they probably are, they were likely added to spice up design. The worse thing front and rear are not really connected, and extending wheelbase while lowering car destroyed proportion balance. And why exactly C-pillars are blacked out? Will there be an opt-out for it??

Let's hope it does look better in person, and pictures do not give it justice. Unfortunately I have little trust in Toyota's styling abilities. I remember when I saw 2015 Prius v nose job pictures, I said "wow it is ugly, but maybe it looks better in person". Then I saw it at dealership; it was much worse than pics.

I think Toyota was going for an angular look.

The length/height was good, but the width/height was bad - too tall for its width or too narrow for its height. Better in the G4.
