    I am a leadfoot...

I'm getting 46 for the last two days...

I bet if I take it easy on the starts I could get 50+ for my daily travels.

I use my Prius to travel 200 miles every other week with 95% being highway miles. I have just 3600 miles now and am currently getting 46mpg highway driving. I usually keep my speed to 65-67mph. I had a tail wind 2 weeks ago and my tank ended at 51.8mpg. My car is always loaded down too. At first I was getting 43-44.6mpg. When I first got my car I set the cruise at 70mph and got 43mpg. I don't use the cruise to much anymore. I just sit back and relax during the drive. I have to say that driving is more enjoyable now that I am not in a great hurry.

Since you are in KS.... We averaged 47.6 mpg on our two tanks in KS last summer during our xc road trip, but then we had four people in the car, rooftop rack, camping gear, and 60 mph.

Doing 70mph, I get 5.1L/100km which I think is about 46mpg. So yeah 44mpg is possible if you drive faster ;).

Otherwise stick at 60mph and watch it climb to near 50mpg :D
