    Chapman F,
Following the link to this tread and the links/info you provided, my Prius V is currently being taken care of at the Dealer. We're praying that all will be fantastic and no issues after they have completed the replacement.

Thank you again for the invaluable information you have provided to so many! ...sincerely appreciated!

That's lovely but I'm assuming that a lot of cars will fall out of this nonsense because of the technical writing of the paper and putting your Toyota dealer through all of this seems kind of well funny to me because inverters are a dime a dozen junk yards can't throw that out fast enough with or without the campaign sticker they don't care they don't know doesn't interest the salvage yard a bit so for generally 50 or 100 bucks you can have a campaign inverter out of a late model generation 3 for pretty much the price mentioned above you'll find a few people on eBay trying to sell them for three or $400 because well they're looking for people like you coming but other than that pretty much they can't give them away they're no use for them for the most part other than for a Prius there's no modification use or anything like that for these things it's just parts of a hybrid car that's loved by many or was until you can go grab one of those at LKQ and change it out on a Saturday in about 54 minutes and never leave your driveway no matter if it's free at the dealer or not just think of all the inconvenience to make the appointment and get there wait go back to pick it up on and on and on I'd have been done hours ago and then the other funny thing is I've never had any problems with a Gen 3 inverter It's the rest of the car that's problematic for the most part but yeah that's a great thing It seems kind of hysterically funny also 20 years out they'll fix it charger inverter but can't keep the rest of the car up but you know after $140,000 miles Toyota's job is done in reality.

All I'm saying where I am this is such a big inconvenience when I can just slap in another inverter that's probably already laying on the floor I know most don't have that luxury.

A lot of us were introduced to gen3 flaws when stranded by a sudden inverter failure. There were probably more original owner early failures than current high mile incidents.

The big difference between this and head gaskets was sudden failure on relatively new cars. Toyota then covered it for 15 years but without towing, hotel or rental cars.

A lawyer caught wind of an opportunity and won a class action suit against Toyota adding the perks and extending the coverage to 20 years.

No one has done the same for head gaskets and excessive oil consumption and the typical used car, high mile owner has very little leverage.
