Thank you. I hit a deer last Saturday night and messed up my beautiful car. That was the first time I have ever hit anything other than maybe a bird. My car is in the shop. Luckily I had a little time to slow down before hitting the deer so the damage was contained to the left front end. I cannot wait to get my car back; I really miss it!

 

My Prius is a Blizzard Pearl.
In which type of lighting does it look like more than just plain-white?

I use the stick-on deer-whistles, attached near each side-mirror. I've never hit any deer, but I've seen hordes of them by the roads.

 

That's terrible, I feel your pain. I hit a deer, I'll rephrase, a deer ran into my car like a kamikazee from out of nowhere with my Chevy cruze last yr, luckily like you I was able to slow down from about 60 to ? Still was 3+k in damage. That same week I came inches from plowing into a huge deer on my motorbike at 3am after work on a back road. Prior to this week I never hit or came close to whacking a deer.... Luck of the draw I guess.

Any lighting! I was admiring mine today under the street light in my parking lot at work. If you can't see the pearl flake, a visit to the optometrist might be in order. It's a beautiful paint and I gladly paid the extra $400 for it.... As did you and the rest of this thread it seems.

I just did a quick google search and there is page after page that refutes the effectiveness of those deer whistles. Multiple studies from fish and game dept's and Universities that say they are useless or in rare cases (buck in heat during rut) might, might cause flight.... In unknown direction and possibly into your car or bike.

Don't believe me, do a search and read the articles. Most are very in depth and informative.

Instead of whistles seems everyone recommends vigilance and reduced speed during dusk / dawn (worst times for deer hits) especially in known deer areas.

 

That may be true, but for the small cost, they've never done me any harm.

May I join? 2014 Prius Two in blizzard pearl.
I hit a raccoon and they had to repair the front end. New bumper was supposed to be painted to match, but it is yellowish.
Would you bring it back and ask for a re-paint or bra?

Make sure the body shop does a GREAT JOB on the paint! I hit a raccoon and the new bumper doesn't come close to matching the rest of the vehicle. . .

 

Pick up the Blizzard tomorrow. Will post photos once I have some good ones!

Thanks for my BB number! I got my Prius back the day after Christmas and it looks perfect. The body shop matched the paint perfectly.

 

I would want them to repaint it. There's no reason they shouldn't match it.

I would say repaint because I abhor bras with vengeance. I had to get a new bumper cover this past year myself and the shop I took it to did a good job matching the color. They insisted on having the car there before painting the bumper cover so they could computer color match the new paint. Blizzard Pearl is a difficult color to get right.
