Consider providing sample bottles for each and something to hold pan debris. If they are captured, you have the option of having them tested. But without sample containers, that opportunity is lost forever.

I don't know if you've looked in Canada, or what's involved in importing a car to the US, but there are lots available within a two hour drive of Buffalo (i.e. in the greater Toronto area), generally well kept and certainly not overpriced. When I bought my Gen1 8 months ago I had several good cars to choose from in the <5k price range. You could check auto trader or kijiji online. 160,000 km = 100k miles.

I'll get a sample,Bob. Dropping the pan was the only thing they didn't get as they had to order the pan gasket. So when it goes in I'll get them to do that. I'm interested in seeing what it looks like as this transaxle is a replacement at 87K and the car now has 130K so it has about 50K on it. I couldn't find any record of the transaxle fluid being changed, which doesn't mean it wasn't. From the service records the owner looks to have been faithful in getting it regularly serviced at the dealership.

I've noticed in researching the Toyota Owner records on Gen 1s that many don't have any records before 30K miles. It seems that some dealers didn't bother to enter the complimentary oil changes that Gen 1 got.

I've heard that many dealers didn't update the central database until 2004 or later. That could also explain the missing records.
