That seems to be a Toyota feature -- the windows rattle like that when lowered on my Prius and my '00 Tundra. I think it's because of the design of the window tracks, I don't think any spray lube or even dynamat would help that. I usually just leave them up because the rattles annoy me.

My mother's 98 camry is far less "rattly" than my '05 Prius. My Scion tC is rattle-free, but the most expensive Toyota in the family (the Prius) has many rattles. Hmmmmmm?

So today i've sprayed some silicone spray, but it didn't quiet anything except the window squeaks. As absurd as it sounds, i did try to "squeeze" the window tracks but they don't move a millimeter. I guess it's a dead end problem.

Well I'm glad it's not just me!

My fix to the dash has stopped the really annoying one from the front, now I have just one coming from the boot, sounds like Pinto Girl's one.

Still rattles when I hit a bump though. I think the main culprit for this is the secret compartment cover in the boot. Anyone had any luck securing this? It sits really quite loosely in its place.

Yeah I get one from the cargo area in the back that I'm living with at the moment - I've tried using those foam strips you use to stop draughts in windows and doors - but no luck so far.

I have noticed the car is quieter in the winter than the summer though.

I did have a rattle in the back that drove me nuts - I even took all the trim off and still couldn't find out what was causing it.
In the end I found a piece of road where I could create the rattle every time, folded the back seats down, got my son to lie in the back and eventually he found the culprit - it was the little triangle window at the back on the right hand side, somehow it vibrated over a bump (but not a hole).
I stuffed some felt in where my son thought the rattle was coming from and it did the trick.

On to the next one.....
