Installed some HIDS on my '10 Prius

I installed the Xenon Supply HID kit, 4300k. The ballast wires are actually not as long as in the instruction video, so I am not able to install it behind the panel as shown. I just stick the driver's side ballast on the fuse box cover.

I was thinking about getting a set of HID's since the prius comes with projectors from the factory. But was always worried that it would somehow mess with the electronics which is basically what the whole car is made up of.

Is this truly a plug and play where it attaches to the factory connectors with no modifications necessary?

I've been running HIDs for about 2 1/2 years. A recent collision enabled me to inspect the light internals and I found no evidence of deterioration, clouding etc. the projector glass was clean and clear.

I stuck mine on the inverter.

Did you go with Relay or canbus kit ? I am debating if I really need to go with Relay kit ?

I am planning on using 50W morimoto ballast, I just ordered them, didn't realize while ordering them about the heat.
How is 55w ddm ballast running ?, any signs of heat trouble?
I would appreciate your reply back.

Notes for people looking for information on the DDM kit:

-6000K DDM bulbs
-55 Watt DDM ballasts
-Wire harness (from DDM) relay and fuse can be hidden inside the fuse box but shortens the wire length to the passenger side ballast. This wire was routed right above the gas engine and tied to the chassis via zip ties. Because of the limited length, I had to face the ballast towards the rear of the car to connect it to the harness. Although the igniter had to loop back towards the front, there was a perfect amount of length to connect to the bulb with a bit of slack to spare.
-The DDM bulbs as others have stated don't seem to be the best. I noticed ground shadowy effects. I contacted TRS about their Morimoto 3Five's, and they said they would work fine, but their life would be cut in half and the replacement warranty will be void due to a 55 watt ballast.
-I was skeptical about the wire harness at first, but after deciding on a 55 watt kit, it was a must in my mind. Do not be afraid about having to use one, it is VERY simple to install.
-The DDM kit does not come with a connection adapter to the stock headlight power connector. Since I had the wire harness and only needed one of the stock head power connectors to connect to the relay's signal wires(next to the connector plugged into one of the ballasts from the relay) I was able to move the plastic connector from the harness to the wire connecting the harness to the stock power connector. This also required pliers to push the pins closer together after they were in the connector to match up the other connector.
-The bulbs came enclosed in a plastic covering, you need to remove the covering, the cap, AND the white plastic washer around the base of the bulb. I believe this washer serves as a catch for the clear plastic container so it fits firmly around the bulb to avoid any damage to the bulb (try removing the washer and screw the casing back on, it will wobble). After removing the washer, you will need to stretch the orange/red seal washer around the area where the plastic white washer use to be. You will notice that the grooves fit the washer's base perfectly. I am noting this because I have read threads about people needing to really push their bulb in with force to get the bulb in and turnable.
-Turning the bulb into the correct place will require some force =).
