Installed kit from Plug in Supply getting 28 miles!

Sorry, I have been busy and have not been looking at this. I got an email from Tesla to finalize my order for the model S. I will be getting the model s around March, much sooner than I had ever imagined.
So I will sell this car when I get it. I can not have 2 new cars at same time. 60kwh battery and over 200 miles of range, it has no engine, electric heat and everything else, and 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. I do like the prius, but would not enjoy driving it after having driven the Tesla. I have taken out the kit and sold it to someone else. I was getting about 180 mpg per month average, but now with the winter and the kit out only about 66 mpg. For anyone staying with the prius long haul, I would recommend the kit. But if you can afford a Tesla, go for it, it is amazing.

 

I will try to clarify.
1. I am busy working hard to try to pay for my new tesla, but I will describe my experience with the added pack from plug in supply.
It uses either 66 or 132 cells, this will correctly match the voltage of the factory pack for even discharge.
less cells and the added pack will not be able to push enough amps out to assist the factory pack.
More cells and the prius engine is forced on due to too much amp assistance and actual power being added to the factory pack, that would be bad.
The connection is outside of the factory battery aluminum box at the connection where the power goes to the inverter in the front of the car. The power from the factory pack is read by the car amp flow sensor but the added pack is connected outside that point. So, when the factory pack is used up you are taken out of ev mode. Therefore, the larger the added pack the more drive power comes from it saving the factory pack power. It is automatic, provided the 66 or 132 cells are used. With 132 cells you use 66 battery management boards with 2 cells in parallel at each one. Only a rear control board is used, unlike the kits for earlier prius. This is because the car was already designed by toyota to be used in ev mode. You simply are providing the car with added amps which flow around and not thru the current sensor to help drive the car. I you were to connect to the factory battery inside the battery box, then the current would measure all the amps flowing and you would be out of ev mode with each battery still over half full.
So that is what makes it all work.
I know because I tried to connect inside the box to charge with onboard charger. It will charge but you can not use the power due to amp flow problem.
You buy an elcon charger for the added pack. Plug in the car to level II, plug the elcon in to 120 or 240, it is auto switching, if at full power on 240 then both packs are ready in about 1.5 hours. By the way the elcon charger fits perfectly under the passenger front seat.
To sum up. While I was using the 3kw added pack, I had no problems. The added range was great.
I really miss the pack, but sold it, to be ready to sell my prius so I can get my new car.
If I were keeping the prius I would have added 66 more cells for the extra range.
