What makes you believe you damaged it? It's a very delicate sensor, but the sensor is protected unless you go poking at it.

The MAF sensor is directional. I marked mine before disassembling the OEM system. I don't think the INJEN's mount allows it to be installed in one direction.

It could be that it was mistakenly installed backwards.

You are correct, although if you just use one screw to secure it you could make it work. Installing it backwards would definitely cause these issues.

Thought I had uploaded this previously. Red circle is where the sensor is installed on the opposite side of the pipe.

Go back to stock and see if it's fixed as bisco mentioned.

Yeah, as previously mentioned: apparently the Injen allows you to install the MAF sensor in two orientations, only of which is right.

The intake should have no reason to cause a MAF error like you're getting unless something is unplugged somewhere or it's installed wrong. If you didn't connect the intake properly you'd have a vacuum leak that may cause MAF errors.

Hook it up to an OBD2 scanner and see exactly what's going on, and try going back to the stock setup to eliminate the possibility it's the Injen as mentioned above.

From the direction of the wire connector on the MAF sensor, it appears that the directional is correct. This is the same directional orientation in relation to the air flow that I have on the HPS.

And, on two HPS installs on a 2012 and a 2018, I have seen no CEL issues.

So went to AutoZone bought some hoses and replaced almost all vacuum hoses and bought some starting fluid and sprayed around the hoses to see if I can get a rpm rise. No to all hoses except 1. Pcv hose. As soon as I sprayed it toward engine block I got a small increase in rpm so just gonna replace pcv valve and the hose

Well that's definitely something that needs to be fixed. Good luck!

Update. So been in contact with injen. Sent pictures data etc and waiting on them to reply. Also went to Toyota and bought a pcv valve and hose. Replaced it no issue. Reset codes and cel came back on. Waiting on injens reply then probably just go back to stock. I’ve never had issues on an intake before this is crazy.

Pcv valve yes. It almost time to change it anyway. Intake no. I’ve always had CEL with it

There is a simple easy way to check the PCV without taking it out and shaking or blowing on it.

Remove the oil fill cap, place a rubber glove over the oil fill opening. A restricted or non-functioning PCV valve will cause the glove to inflate; indicating over pressure.
