Unbolted the drivers side lower control arm. I left everything else attached including the wheel. Had a 2nd person pull and hold it away from the cradle while I removed the old bar and slid in the new.

Did you ever find out if the part number for the Sport sway bar is the same as the non-sport bar?

    Thanks.

Could one use the existing sway bar bushings since the bar is only 1mm larger? I have approx 3,500 mi on my car so bushings are like new. Not sure if the durometer(hardness) of the rubber would be different between the Rav4 and the Prius though. If possible, you could save another 40-50 bucks!

Actually, when your bushings will be more worn out they will fit the larger bar better ...
In order to function properly the bar has to have some movement inside the bushing.
I had a "scary moment" while auto-crossing my Miata because of sway bar bind.

BTW, a stiffer front swaybar will make your car under steer more, not fun!
I would add it only with a matching rear bar.

Depends on how hard you're driving it. I didn't understeer much today at my autocross event.

I realy have no experiance with driving the Prius at the limit.
I tried to push it a few times but the VSC stopped the fun very early.

Can it be disabled for autocross?

Thanks for the tip, I already have the Prius plus performance rear sway bar (not sure if you would call it a matching bar) along with Tanabe SO-C coilovers.

I was curious about that also. Reasons why...

    1) Some ebay listings show it with and without.
    2) ToyotaPartsPeople.com does not carry the RP kit...

After reading that thread, if the posted information is correct, the reason behind the "PTR11-47011" Part number could be to "upgrade" the people that had the issues with the initial xB Sways with the part numbers "PTR11-52080" and "PTR11-52090"

    I found this pdf file...

    http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=ptr11-47011&source=web&cd=9&ved=0CGAQFjAI&url=http%3A%2F%2Fpictures.dealer.com%2Fnewcountry%2F2ff93b010a0d02b7008210fc0c02cf56.pdf&ei=atzgT-u8CKO28AHNiNXvCA&usg=AFQjCNHjtIXbo2Hi1H4-ydGd2X9ltqlQlQ

And it indicates the PTR11-47011 part number is for the xB which supports my above theory.

I'm still waiting on a source of mine to see if he can beat out ToyotaPartsPeople.comprice of 251.75 shipped. If he can't I may just order the bar up by itself tonight and if I need to, get the extra kit.

Let me know if he can beat it, maybe we will get a deal if we get 2 (or 3 if you get one for the 2011)

Well I just pulled the trigger. Got the TRD springs and rear sways. Should be in for pickup tomorrow so ill have a definitive answer. 447 after tax for both. No shipping, just pickup. Best deal I could find. The RP kit is 2 weeks out so I hope its true and I don't need it. My only concern is maybe the people that got it got it from a dealer that sold the 2 together as one since the computer tells the guys they need to order both.

Well a belated update... the dog bones do come with the rear sway. any vendor charging seperate for them is screwing you.

I can get these for less then anyone on the webs cost and if you are in SoCal you can pick them up tyically within 48 hours.
