My covers were removed years ago. The wheels look sooo much better without them. :)

Hmm, well, hook-on-phonic works great for young folks who has trouble reading....

Hint: see page 1 of this thread....

Even though i am not old, macmaster's statement is out of place...and shows his lack of maturity.

Actually, i wonder if there is an actual demographic chart to see who buys Prius the most...i doubt that it is the "oldies" that buy up all the Prius and thus making poor kiddo like Macmaster look "bad" to his cool friends....

Exactly. Which is what I meant when I said:
Humor me. Which statement are you referring to.

    Do the wheelcovers improve mileage?

They may also give you one curb grind of protection for the wheel.

I've seen 'sources' on this forum that say removing the windshield wipers would increase your mileage.
    YMMV.
Personally. I think it might make as much as a 1 or maybe even a 2-MPG difference in your real world mileages for the wheel covers not the wipers!!!, but I haven't yanked mine off (yet) to see if there is any difference out here in my part of the 'real' world.
I wish I could report that I was being my usual sarcastic self about the wiper blades---but I actually read numerous posts from educated (not to be confused with smart!) people that opined that removing the wipers would net you +2MPG.
    Again.... YMMV!

If you really wanna find out.....pull off the covers, or wait for them to fall off, and see if your gas bill goes up.

    EDITED for clarity.

Mine is missing 4 as well, but they are not really missing as they are sitting in a pile with other junk like stock floor mats, and running boards from my Xterra.

Reason why they are missing on most cars is because most Prius drivers drive there Prius like it is a drag car racing red light to red light! At least thats the way it is here in my part of Florida.

Nothing besides what I have heard and read here on PC. I might be able to get some time in the wind tunnel to test this out this weekend. Just kidding about the wind tunnel I could not help myself.

Could you build a cowl for the windshield wiper that would accomplish the same aerodynamic effect as removing them?

    Did you spray paint those?

I edited my post, since sarcasm does not have a specific font.

I don't think that wiper blades make a difference---at least one that you could quantify on the street, and since [sarcasm!] you don't need windshield wipers in a wind tunnel, I don't think that the cowl would be worth the effort.[/sarcasm!]

I saw one this morning missing the right front wheel cover, could not get eyes on the drivers side.
