Did she say where they're going, or on what line? Disease outbreaks on cruise ships seem awfully common. I'll take a small hiking lodge or rustic Caribbean island any day. But I do hope this was not going to be their ship. Good luck Rene, wherever you are now!
If Rene is cruising from San Diego, CA down to Mexico, as she said in her OP, they'd have an awfully long way around to the Gulf in order to visit the Mexican ports. But wouldn't that be a wonderfully long and relaxing journey...
Did she say San Diego? Oh, yes, she did. Great. I guess most of us missed that. So she should be okay.
Yes, they do. Fortunately, reading comprehension is also taught, and I distinctly recall Rae Vynn writing to say her cruise left the port of San Diego. So, unless the cruise was several weeks longer than she said, and she somehow forgot to mention that it happened to meander through the Panama Canal, I think that implies they'd be on the West coast of Mexico and therefore in the Pacific. Admittedly, Geography classes were quite a number of years ago, so perhaps I should check my atlas before shooting my mouth off.
Well at least someone was thinking what I was thinking :thumb: That's one hell of a cruise if she's on the other side
I noticed the San Diego comment, but I still choose to assume that Tideland doesn't know basic geography. Tom
Honey, I'm Home!! We had a wonderful cruise - on Holland America, From San Diego, West side of Mexico - we visited Mazatlan, Puerto Valleta, and Cabo. No illness on board. The first 3 days, to reduce the risk, no one was allowed to serve themselves in the Lido (the buffet). Apparently, this is something the CDC suggested and the cruise line decided to try. It seems to be effective - this was the first cruise we've been on with no illness! JavaJunki weighed himself this morning - he only gained two pounds. UPDATE: I weighed myself. I lost 2 pounds on the cruise. *gasp* I didn't get sunburnt, either! Oh, I'll get the photos uploaded later today...
Welcome home, Rene. Glad you had fun, and didn't get sunburned. (I always get a little sunburned, but usually not enough to spoil anything.) Mostly, I'm glad nobody got sick. If disallowing self-serving at the buffet will prevent illness, I'm all for it. I'm often at self-serve places, but there's usually about 20 people at the whole place.
