yes, here too, but not that cold, 10's and 20's i think. it will be interesting if it gets cold enough anywhere that the ice comes on like a regular prius.

went to work this morning, scraped my windshield, didn't matter , because it just re-frosted over. About a mile from work I shut defrost, and Climate Control off. ICE shut off (fluid temp was 109 degrees at it's lowest, and still no ICE after I shut def. and CC off. MPG going 2.8 miles: 40. Round trip 72 MPG.

I went to my sister yesterday after work to help them set up a bunk bed for their kids. I drove 12 miles in the rush hour and I made it there with 0.3 miles left.

I parked/charged outside (38 deg F) for 4 hours and came back home on a different route (13 miles) and got 559 MPG. ICE did not kick in until it depleted the charge.

I thought parking it outside for 4 hours would do some unexplainable ICE starts but so far, not yet.

If your mileage wasn't 999, the ICE came on at some point.

did my regular commute today, 23 degrees, 39 in the garage. made it to work without the ice firing, recharged for 45 minutes, went to lowes and came home, 15.5 miles, no ice. the only caveat is that i went out an hour earlier for a 2 mile ev drive so the batteries may have been warm.

my ice came on again on the way to church this morning. this is the first time in two weeks and came as a surprise because it was 48 degrees out. although i was careful to stay under 40 and not let it regen, it fired on my usual down hill stretch at 38 mph and the hsi about a quarter inch to the right of the regen line. the only thing i didn't do was burn off some charge before i left because i thought (foolishly) it was too warm to come on.

I live at the top of a hill, not a mountain or anything.... a hill. If I roll down with a full charge and regen .2 miles ICE comes on. If I want the ICE to not come on, I need to put the car in neutral until I burn off some EV.

Well, that's to be expected. You didn't get coffee for your PiP so it drunk from the ICE to get some warmth. ;)
