Bob, does your car have the Energy Monitor screen? If it doesn't I would be surprised because every Prius that I have had, had the Energy Monitor screen, that way you can visually see when ICE kicks in.:D

@john1701a do you have a list of the parts used for your setup and a suggestion on where to purchase them?

I'll go hunting for that Energy Monitor screen; I know it's here somewhere; who knows, I'm probably sitting on it!! I may have to refer to my Reference Library for the MANUAL; perhaps it's in Tome 11 or 15. I'll have one of my interns see if they can hunt it down!! These modern owner's manuals remind me of the legalese for credit card accounts!!

Thank you, oh kind and Patient One in dealing with my clumsy, fumbling ignorance! However, I may have to hire a proxy to perform all those button-pushing activities, as my advanced rickets, overgrown hangnails, bifurcated corneas, advanced senility, coupled with my general slovenliness and advanced cretinism (note that like my car, I'm "advanced"), prevent me from accomplishing this complicated task!
Nevertheless, thank you once again for your forbearance!!

I'm curious, is there a settings screen where you can select what the ICE does? For example with my Volt, I can choose either 35F or 15F foe engine assisted heating or there's also a setting if you want engine assisted heating while the car is plugged in.

Mine is a Plus trim and so far, I've only used the energy flow display on the combination meter ... the small, center screen that alternates with the SOC display. The outline/filled car icon works for engine ON/OFF which is all I need for this investigation.

The owner's manual reports "ECO" app will show the energy flow on the audio screen so I'll try to get that up later today. Just it isn't clear this provides unique information that I'm already getting from the combination meter. I normally use the audio screen for navigation and monitoring podcast playback.

That HD is actually newer than mine for the dash. The 4K is what I use for the window.

I opted for the Wi-Fi remote on both. They work great, but capturing & broadcasting really suck up the battery. Plugging into a portable battery takes care of that though. You can operate either camera with their phone-app too, which works really well.

I was just reading the Owner's manual and it reports 14F (-10C) can trigger the engine to come on, pp. 493.

Hey, I have my interns doing all the research; they love the abuse!!. Today, you'll notice (without mentioning any names, DJT), as long as you have tons of money, you can be as dumb as a brick, and be "successful"!!
