I Spotted Your Modded Gen III!

Saw this Prius V today in the Tokyo Central & Main parking lot. Not sure if this is his car, but I know the owner of AutoFashionUSA has a modded white V. I'm sure one of you guys knows who's car this is...

 

2010-2011 BP on maybe coilovers (it looked lower than TRD springs) and Plus Wheels this morning. Threw you a peace sign as I drove past you.

 

I often get the feeling that a bulk of the Prius drivers out there have no sense of esprit de corps.

 

It's not like the old days (2004 or so) when just seeing another Prius was a major event. There were Prius waves of recognition. Today, not so much if ever.

 

Agreed. Nowadays I only gesture to another Prius driver if they've modded their car (...and removing the hubcaps doesn't count anymore since everyone is doing it, and they don't even bother getting centercaps to cover the hole, but I digress...) since there's so many Prii on the road out here, and I just assume a modded Prius has a car enthusiast versus a normal commuter. Majority of the time they don't wave back, and I can't tell if they're just being jerks or don't see me wave to them.

For example, I switched to PWR mode and sped up to catch the guy this morning, we drove side-by-side for a good distance, and I would turn my head to make eye contact with him and he kept his eyes forward the entire time. I finally gave him one last glance with my hand out the window and threw him a peace sign before slowing down to make my turn.

 

Back when I was a Jeep guy, it seemed the norm that modded Jeep drivers would give each other the nod or a thumbs up. These days I'll wait until I the other Prius driver has got the oh-a-modded-prius look before giving the nod.

Hopefully I count as modded (if ever so slightly) since I do have the center caps? tinted windows? Wheel trim? and of course, my Priuschat decal...........LoL. Seriously though, I really like the looks of the modded "Pri-de-Corp". Keep on modding guys, you are setting a trend!! Especially the interiors I have seen!!! As for acknowledgements, Most of the time I catch people looking at me to see if I am looking at them, then once caught, they just look away. I have tried to give either the peace sign or a friendly wave. I think the issue of road rage keeps people from looking. One never knows when some nut head is trying to get your attention.

 

Spotted @Thanh Tran (?) at One KBBQ last night in La Palma. I really need some G's headlights in my life.

 

I don't think that's Thanh's car. I'm pretty sure he did not have G's lights.
But I do agree, some G's lights are good for you.

 

Ah, just a wild guess after seeing this post the other day. What did you do to ur Gen III Prius today????
