I really wish the deal had told me to watch out for moving debris in the road. Less than two weeks of having the car I hit some moving metal debris on the freeway, the car still ran fine and there weren't any weird sounds. Half hour later there was no cool air. Turns out I managed to hit something right where the condenser is. Ugh. Boy was that expensive to repair.

I get you venting, but that is probably true for any car.

... that there was no spare key ($455 dollars at the dealer - total rip-off), no user manual, and no felt in the center console (24 dollars at the dealer, 30 cents at Michael's craft shop).

I bought my 2013 Prius used last year and the idiot that sold me the car didn't tell me there wasn't a trunk latch to open it from inside the cabin. Even when I couldn't find it and called him the next day, he kept insisting I looked for it, until I read online that it's not available.

The hook type thing is the Jack Handle. In the 2016 owner manual page 674 it is shown in the trunk, page 680 it is shown in use

pp. 252-253 If you have a Touring and you don't have the foglight switch "ring" on your headlight stalk as shown on these pages, that would be a manufacturing defect.

    1. If your new car was not delivered with two keyfobs, the dealer lost/stole one. If they don't cough it up, call Toyota Customer Care to complain.
    2. If your new car was not delivered with a stack of manuals (Owners Manual, Nav/Audio manual, Info Guide, Entune Quick Ref.), again, your dealer lost/stole them. If they don't cough 'em up, again, call Toyota.
    3. Welcome to overpaying at the Service Counter for stuff you can buy at Walmart ;)

I went to three different Toyota dealers including the one that I purchased the car and I can tell you that all three of my used Toyota sales persons were not very knowledgeable when it came to the Prius models and the technical aspects. I'm not sure if maybe I didn't seem like a legitimate buyer?
These sales guys need to know this CAR!!! Seriously I don't have to tell any of you that there's a ton of things that are so much different with the functions of a Prius then a regular car that a customer needs to know about. It's almost overwhelming the stuff you need to learn about the Prius.
I feel right now that I could sell the Prius better then any of the three guys that I worked with. And, I have only been researching the car for a few months. I dislike working with car sale people and this last transaction only help seal my feelings.

agreed. i educate myself, and do all my purchasing on the net. the only thing i go in for is to pick up the car. and even that's usually a hassle.

To be fair, you practically have to be an autistic savant to KNOW everything about every car you sell. I did my homework and still learned a lot about the Prius AFTER I bought it.

Well this is my 2nd Prius I purchased from the same dealer, both were new. I never had any complains on either the sales person or the buying process. The 2016 Prius is my 4th new vehicle and the two times I felt the dealer screwed me was when I bought a "domestic" brand. The dealer I went to didn't try to sneak in anything like GAP or Extended Warranties and once I finished all the paperwork they have someone sit with you and go over the "need to know's" before taking off. I can't say in the purchase of either the '13 Prius C or the '16 Prius that there was anything I wished I had been told prior to purchasing, at least not yet anyway.

I wish the first two sales people who were with me on Prius test drives knew anything about the vehicle beyond the name of it! (I didnt purchase from the dealers they represented). After making contact with over 15 dealers and playing the price haggling game, I found a dealer offering a fantastic price. I test drove the vehicle stating that it was great they offered a phone charger for my iphone. i wish the salesman had told me that The charger needed a Qi charger. No big deal as the car is fantastic and I love driving it. Just a very small irritation

My salesman told me that the Qi charger wouldn't work with my iPhone, but then I bought a charging case and it works great, even though the phone is a 6sPlus and it too big for the bathtub it sits in by a little bit. Still charges great with the case on.

What I'm wondering about is why I don't feel any steering input from wandering over the dotted lines in the highway. I was told it was supposed to have a little wiggle to the steering wheel when that warning was activated.

Bought a Qi adapter and tried it yesterday. Now the charger in the car works just fine with it. Will have to try the lane warning departure to see if the steering wheel wiggles? It does make a warning sound when you get too near the lines when it is turned on. I turned it off after trying it because I didn't really feel it was something I needed.

I really wish my dealer had told me about the different trim/tech levels and the details of same, when I was looking for my used Prius Plug-in. Seemed more like they just wanted to move this vehicle out of inventory due to the new Prius Prime model hitting the streets. Happy just the same with the base model :)

I wish my salesperson would have explained to me that when I engage the "B" mode in the transmission, it doesn't automatically go back to "D" and that the cruise control will not work as long as the transmission is in "B" mode. Would have saved me a trip to the dealer's service center.
