Just goes to prove true all the news stories about the dire condition of the mental health programs in this country. I see these kind of drivers a minimum of 3-10 times per week, so seems like a normal day on the road anymore and have got so used to it that I just look at a day without running into this kind of anal behavior as a blessing...lol. It's really hard for these drivers to see the road or rules of the road since their heads are so far up their a$$.

    Just be careful out there.
Even professionals like us are not immune to mental health issues.

AND most of the times, it's the driver and NOT the car

That second one always makes me wonder whenever I see it... there must be some preliminerary context that isn't shown. Given it's from a dash cam I can only assume some video must exist but as it's not included, it's difficult not to assume that it would indicate an initial provocation by the original uploader, otherwise they would have included it.

I agree...there is something fishy about the second video. Clearly, this driver was trying to be way faster than the rest of the traffic flow, so I'm assuming that the driver was an idiot to begin with. Obviously, the prius driver was not too happy about it.

JG2 That's the stuff I am talking about. Pure idiot driving. It's like the Prius is a porch light on a buggy night. I am just waiting for one to loop it or hit something so I can stop and give them the idiot of the year award.

People can stereotype drivers by their vehicle, so sadly mistaken.

It's never the car it's the driver.

Driving a Prius tends to have that affect....

All the idiots on the road are attracted to the vehicle.... Like bugs and those little devices with the pretty blue light and then Zapppp....

Most people these days learn and imitate how to drive from TV/Movies driving go carts or playing Video Games like GTA.

You think out of all the vehicles on the road that "idiots" select people who are in their prius @ the time? What about 18 wheelers? I think that could be your perception, and there are just "idiots" on the road in general.

It doesn't matter, there are always going to be idiots out there, regardless of what YOU drive. I can't count the number of times has a car come behind me on the freeway, pulled out left to get in front of me, then blast out right to go out the exit lane, crossing multiple lanes of traffic. No courtesy whatsoever. My mother taught me this: Drive like you're the only sane person on the road. Yeah, it helps.

That is intresting, so other drivers seem more patient? I have noticed many seem to be impatient to get by me. but often wont pass when there is lots of room. seems weird. in our other hybrid I don't experiance the same but it is much quicker. and I may be more cautious because I am working on my mpg with the new c

I think that this may just be a coincidence. I also think that a hybrid driver if you are watching your mpg or charge level or whatever else. and this causes us to drive much more steady and we often dont close distance with cars that are speeding up in front of us. I think this frustrates other drivers. before gas went up in price, I drove fast. and if I was getting cut off like that caddilac I might have gassed my suburban and made them take the exit and get some sort of satisfaction from that.

someone else said drive like you are the only sane person on the road. I think this is a good way to look at it. and it may be better to speed up a little if your speed is frustraiting someone.

I recommend getting a couple dash cameras. Obviously surveillance helps. No one is safe on the road if other drivers cannot behave themselves when you are following the law.

Cameras are good AFTER the accident, As evidence and to speed up the insurance claims.
But it does nothing to PREVENT the aggressiveness from the jerks/idiots on the road.

If i have to make the purchase today for a hybrid, i will strongly consider the Honda Accord Hybrid. I understand it's a Sedan and pricier than the entry level Prius C or 3rd Gen Prius.
But if a buyer is leaning towards the higher trim, the price difference is quite close.

As for reliability, i have owned/still own a honda, and i can confidently say they're as reliable as our Toyota/Lexus.

I highly reccomend that you consider the past history with the civic hybrid. my friend has one and he wont buy another hybrid because it gets the same mpg as the regular civic.

Please test drive the Camry hybrid, we own one and it is great. If I were going to buy an Accord I would wait to see real world reports on mpg. I really hope that the Accord gets 50 mpg. but I can tell you my camry gets over 50 around town if I am driving. but the average for my wife is just over 40 mpg for the 26k we have driven it:)

My opinion is wait like 6 months and see what mpg is reported on fuelly.com. If you need to make a purchase now buy the camry hybrid.

Not sure where you got your numbers from, but the Accord Hybrid is not the same price. Especially when you consider the 5 year cost of ownership.

I agree test driving the Camry Hybrid ( i used to own an ICE Camry 2008 SE) , it's going to be cheaper vs the Honda, but the MPG numbers are no way near a Prius/Prius C.
That was the reason why we went with a Prius Four 2 years ago.
Camry Hybrid is 43/39 vs Accord Hybrid 50/45 vs Prius 51/48 and Prius C 53/46

AND The Accord Hybrid is not the same with the Civic hybrid. (IMA Integrated Motor Assist )
here he can explain it better

as for the price going head to head with a Prius.. i said higher trim ( Toyota Prius 2013 | Hybrid Car)

    2013 Gen 3 Prius Four = 28,435
    2013 Gen 3 Prius Five = 30,005
    2014 Honda Accord Hybrid = 29,155

Agreed, many drivers see a gap as wasted road space and lost trip time, even if the reality is they'd be lucky to save 2 seconds if they filled it. This is why I hate some mornings on the freeway, leave just a car length in front of you, not even close to assured clear distance, and another car jams itself right in there. On the other hand, I do love it when you pull up to a red light next to someone who just passed you, and you just wonder why they put all that work into being in the exact same spot they'd be anyways if they hadn't just passed you.

    I concur.
My experience face to face (not confrontational) with Volvo drivers led me to conclude Volvo drivers are less competent than usual and they chose Volvos because of the ads saying how safe they were in expectation of being in an accident.
Prii drivers are just too damn slow; they are moving traffic pylons. I guess they have their panties in a tightwad trying to get better than 50 mpg. One of my State highway friends says he's on the verge of giving out his first too slow for traffic conditions ticket thanks to Prii.
