I love my new prius but if there was one thing I would like to change...

Actually, it isn't an "EV cutoff", it is more like an "ICE start". In that mode, you are still primarily using the battery, and the ICE is just idling to keep the speed difference between the gears in the PSD (Power Split Device) within spec.

I wish they left the touch tracer buttons where they were before.

Location of the heated seats switches. Seriously, I have to bend down while driving to turn it off? What were they thinking???

These were my reasons for getting a PiP and ditching the regular Prius haha.
Yes it does...can't wait for warmer weather so I can do that too.
+1...however my elbow didn't quite reach the armrest in the 2011 Prius either...seems this 12 has more padding but still isn't soft enough. Neither are the door panels.

He was quoting someone else's post that referred to the location of the heated seat switches.

Great stats.. What is your overall MPG.. about 225?
Glad to see the PiP is a good match to your needs. You should be part of the PiP MPG spreadsheet

the other day i shoved something in that storage compartment and a minute later my butt was on fire! seriously, really don't understand the location at all. shouldn't it just be part of the climate cluster?

I just ran into this myself. I have a box of kleenex in that area, and yesterday I noticed the seat getting warm without me turning it on. Guess I'll have to keep that area clear.

I wish there was an ICE cutoff switch. I've been driving around on EV and accidentally pushed the accelerator too hard which starts the ICE. This causes me to have to pull over and shut off the vehicle. I'd prefer an ICE cutoff switch.

Sounds like a great way to destroy your engine

    I second the Motion.

However, I don't pull over and power the car off, to get it back to EV.

ukr2, well if you don't pull over to power off the car, do you just let the ICE continue it's warmup cycle?

Yes. Why do people keep thinking they are smarter than the engineers who built this car?

Center console, armrest, and seating position needs a rework.

The reason the engine stays on, I'm pretty sure, is longevity. The reason it turns on is because we're in the US. The reason you should keep it on, instead of instantly pullin over and rebooting the car (I can't believe someone would actually do this) is so that it keeps running at 100k, 200k miles. No?
