That boggles the mind. It’s the same car now!! Presumably built on the same line too. Sigh.

As least Toyota hasn’t gone the Honda way. Silver white or black unless you buy the top model, then you can access the blue (and another grey).

All lol. The question is, is there any other colour beside black.

The press release did say Toyota addressed the noise of the Prius but, so far, nobody has been allowed to take one out on a test drive to verify. If you watch the videos, you can see a new insulation pad installed over the engine under the hood.

This video has all of the options...looks like at $38,000 the XSE will have the sweetest options...19" wheels, 12" display, JBL 8 speakers, heated steering wheel, solar glass roof, 360 camera, power back door, memory driver's position on the seats, a "traffic jam assist" (I'm not sure what that means...doesn't require you to hit the gas peddle when stuck in traffic like we do now?). It looks like we'll get the same 9 colors but no more green. (Ash, silver, gray, black, 2 white, yellow mustard, red, blue)

Not only we can thank local marketing teams not pushing for more colors or, at least, for all the colors HQ Japan has available for their own market, but it seems that Japan itself doesn't get this fantastic rainbow of colors either. According to the image posted, they Japanese drivers get yellow, blue and red (wow, three colors!) and a plethora of shades of grey like the rest of the world, plus "ash". Which, BTW, is not a color but yet another shade of grey.

Marketing is the key. Nobody wanted Suburbans and Broncos in the early 80s until GM & Ford marketing convinced people they were "practical" and safe and a great family car - none of which was true. If two car companies can create the insane SUV fad, Toyota and its dealer network can create demand for color. At the very, very least give us the option of special ordering some good colors. I'd pay $2k to get Lunar Rock (not a gray, it's green) or Blue Flame or Lime Rush.

There you said it. Give me the option. Let me pay more but let me choose if I want some other color instead of “nothing”.
BMW makes money just by offering the “personal color”, which is more than the 1-2k they ask for some “special” colors already…

My wife said “no” if the mid range model has no keyless start.

I believe the "Digital Key" option is utilizing your mobile phone as a key. They haven't gotten rid of push-to-start we're used to with the fobs.

I also believe Digital Key requires a Drive Connect subscription (free trial).

    They all have keyless entry/start.

Like Malachy said, Digital Key is different. DK uses your phone to effectively become a key fob. It will also let your phone unlock your door automatically as you approach the car, rather than having to use the fob or wait until your hand is in the handle. I can see negatives for this if you are in an unsafe area, but I'm sure it's something you can turn off if you want. (DK also includes remote start/stop by phone.)

It doesn't look like it's currently available, but theoretically you could link the phone to a memory setting that would include seat position, radio presets, climate control setting, etc. I remember VW advertising a planned system like that not so long ago.

Tesla's have that I think, lock/unlock with phone. We've a Model 3 in the family; I'm scared of it.

Small issue, but it would have been nice to see dual zone climate controls on the higher trim levels to go along with the heated and ventilated seats. Not critical in the least, but good for those of us who regularly have a passenger that wants the opposite temp. :)

I would rather have seen more mpg than giddy up go....

Fire engine red, dark red, electric blue, eggshell white, champagne beige, chocolate brown, metallic orange/copper???

Ugh, the only SUV I've ever like is our Prius V. The others waste gas and ride like trucks.

Yes. As does Ford, Hyundai and others with a digital key.

Problem is that the car requires access to the internet (for verification of phone request). Not sure how well it'll work in an underground garage.

As is, I can't even use voice recognition or use anything via Kia Connect on my EV6 once I enter my parkade, even though I'm a few metres from the ground level entrance, never mind my actual stall underground.

Not quite, for unlocking the door, the phone uses BlueTooth. As such, lack of internet doesn’t pose a problem.
Remote connection won’t work, but the close range BT does.
