HV Mode: Does a Fuller Battery Improve MPG?

    Charged, uncharged, same number of electrons, just at different potentials. Besides, a few (1 x 10^24 or so) electrons don't weigh much.

    Indeed.

    Well, *technically* any object with greater potential energy, via E=mC^2, has greater mass. However, that mass difference, being divided by C^2 (nearly 90 quintillion m^2/s^2), breaths new meaning to words like “infinitesimal,” and “negligible”!

    As previous commenter noted, the Prius uses a DC-DC converter to charge the 12V battery from the HV battery. The OP’s question concerned the state of charge of the HV battery, which he is using as the motive power on his Prime (EV mode).
