Time for a 6-month update! I've put about 4,000 miles on it in the interim. Bottom line:
    1. The battery is working great. No issues since the module swap.
    2. mpg is consistently around 47.0 these days! This is even better than what I was getting last summer (~45.5), but that could be explained by things like weight, altitude, and type of driving. (Prius and I spent last summer/fall road tripping around the country.)
    3. Doing the $75 module swap and basic connector cleaning (vs buying refurbished or doing any kind of reconditioning) was clearly the right choice for me.
Good luck out there and happy driving!

P.S. To those recommending Dr. Prius, sorry I forgot to respond -- I have been using the app since I got the car. I do like it, but I don't put a ton of stock in the battery life test because I ran it shortly before my module died and it showed around 65%. Not saying it's a bad metric, but as always, YMMV.
P.P.S. @strawbrad, the P0A78 code was definitely a symptom of the battery issue (or the shenanigans I was doing to get the car to limp home during the battery issue) and has not returned.
