How to wire amp with dash speakers?

    Again I apologize for asking again, but this is all new to me. Maybe I am not using the right words but my concern is what happens if I use a crossover for the dash speakers in regards to the watts being pushed by the amp to the front door speakers.

    Correct?
    HU ---> Amp ---> front doors only (using 2 channels)
    If amp does 60w per channel, then each front door gets all 60w.

    HU --- > amp ---> xover ---> to dash and fronts
    How much watts goes to each...30 and 30?
    If this is the case, seems to be not the best use of the front door speakers, if they can do 100w.

    Does this make sense what I am asking or am I just lost here?
