Are these part numbers for all year and models of 2nd gen? I found the 89994-47061 on this website but it has a list of compatible cars and while it specifically shows 2007 base/touring and 2008 base/touring....for 2009 it only says base and leaves out touring. I have a 2009 touring so I'm a little concerned before I drop $125 for it. You can see the compatibility chart at the bottom of the page.... Genuine 8999447061 Remote Control Transmitter for Keyless Entry and Alarm System | PartBull

Can anyone confirm for sure that 89994-47061 works with a 09 touring?

    Thanks!
    Stephen

Well, with my new 2008 Prius the auction I bought it from supposedly lost key....And they made a new one which has SKS functionality..and it works perfectly fine. There is no logo on the back. No toyota logo on back!

I took a black/silver logo spare key off a prius I was selling...and the good news is procedure 1 was very easy. Took less than a minute and the spare key turns car on/off.

The bad news is procedure 2 did not work after attempting 3 times. I am wondering if the battery to the key fob is dead? Will report back later. Not sure why I waited so long to add spare...This was a really easy procedure!

Nope, the problem is procedure 2 will only work on new virgin key fobs. I hear there is a service you can use to "virgin-ise" a used key fob so you can use procedure 2.

But only for Gen3 fobs. Whoever figured out how to do it for Gen3 is probably working on others...

Thanks! I picked up a brand new Toyota OEM fob with key for $125 shipped from partbull and it programmed and is fully functional on first try! Awesome! Great thread! Thanks for taking the time to write it all up!

    2004-2009 years.

Smart Key System; i.e., you don't have to touch/click the fob to unlock/lock the door nor put fob in slot to start car. FOB case has a silver Toyota logo on back.

At the end of procedure B my lock/unlock cycles twice instead of just once. I guess there are too many fobs assigned to my car? How do I solve that problem?

I used a used black logo fob to temporary replace the bad silver logo fob (causing alarm to go off ). It works w/ "A " procedure. Thanks

I purchased a used key off eBay, and found out after that I can't program a used key for the SKS features. Procedure A worked fine, but I wanted to get the SKS working since the car was capable. I then purchased a new key from a dealer and just tried it again. Procedure A did not work, but B did?? So now everything works except when I actually insert the fob in the slot and try to turn on the engine. Has anyone else experienced this??

You might have too many keys in your system, there's a limit of 5. You have to delete some

It means when u approach your locked door with your key in your pocket the drivers door will automatically unlock by the time you reach door handle.

SKS stands for smart key system.

Hi there, I'm trying to program a pre used smart key for my 2008 prius, I can start the car now with the new key. However, trying to program the lock/unlock. I followed all the strips. At the end I got the lock/unlock cycle twice which means that the the registration has been fail. Tried to repeat the steps more and more with same result. Could you please give some advise. Thanks!

You can't program a used key for sks functions. You would need a new key. Or reseed the car

Reseed means to erase all the keys in memory and then program the used keys.

    This requires special equipment.

If you started with a brand new key, then you can do the programming yourself.
