I'm betting she would look even cooler in the passenger seat of my Prius, but I will need to see the pictures to be certain.
They look dark in my avatar pic Would you believe I have 1198 miles on her as of today It is staying dry here with 40's in the day with freezing at night and so far the road crews are not salting the dry roads. I drive my SUV in the morning to bring Tyler to school to check out the roads just in case they get the itch to lay down a few tons of salt. They tend to do that around here. Salt must be cheep or sumthin. BTW you should have heard Denise on the phone tonight as she was driving up Hwy 99 toward Stockton. Bunch of idiots cutting her off and driving like they didn't have a license or something. Next year I will be there for two solid weeks in November Of course my car will be at home safe & sound in our garage Mike
Stockton is a s$:& hole! You couldn't pay me to go there. They are up to 59 homicides this year and the place isn't that big! I hope she doesn't have to stay there. I can't wait to see you guys!
Pardon my ignorance, I have never lived in a salty state, but wouldn't the salt stay around all year long? I mean the rain washes it into the soil, then come summer, wind blows some dirt around, wouldn't the dirt have some salt content too? I'd be afraid to drive with my windows open.
No. Salt will dissolve in the rain. It is really bad for the environment. It ruins soil fertility and disrupts aquatic life. http://www.epa.gov/region1/topics/water/pdfs/winterfacts.pdf Does road salt harm the environment? - Slate Magazine
Exactly. Some ditches around here can't grow grass and trees along side roads show salt damage on the side that faces the roads. Minnesota is seriously laying down way more salt than needs to be used. It gets worse every winter. More & more salt each year. Now it is even colored blue. What's in that stuff? I doubt it is pure salt. More pollution for the soil. Once the salt season starts there is no way to keep a winter vehicle clean. The roads are white with salt so bad that you can't see the painted lines. I only live here because my wife has family here and will not move. Mike
I forgot to mention; it started last winter or the winter before that when road crews would spray roads with a molasses/salt mix so it sticks to the roads. Our winter vehicles turn black from this crap and I can't imagine the effects this sticky salt will have on steel parts on the vehicles. It takes lots of water in the car wash to wash it off as it tends to resist the water being sprayed on it. Wonder how the environment will handle all the molasses once it collects enough over the coming winters? Wisconsin uses this liquid salt mix too Mike
That's why my Prius will be clean, warm & happy in our garage until May Saves the miles on her too Mike
How many years would a typical car last before the body rots out to the point that you have to junk it up in MN? Are newer cars getting better at rust proofing than say, 80's models?
Black on black on black. Can't wait to get my Prius. I never thought of all the customizing that can be done to it.
