Since I'm jus gonna have the mirrors with the lights and my car stock has power mirrors and heated mirrors will I still be able to control the direction of glass mirror and still have heated mirrors when I swap them as that's what my car has stock?

:)The aftermarket JDM style signal mirror kit , non folding, is a bargain. The folding feature is neat, but expensive. A feature I'd seldom use.

2010 GenIII Drivers door mirror has no visible damage but after someone hit it the mirror will not go left to right, only up/down. I was ready to do simple replacement but after seeing some of these posts now wish to find out if it is possible to upgrade from simple motorized mirror to heated or LED, fold, turn signal options?

..so after thinking on this for 18 months and buying the parts in 2013 I finally installed the Wish folding + turn signal + puddle light parts on the car today. Swapping out the mirror parts is not a bad chore if you take your time and keep the parts piles separate. The doors and mirrors are now reassembled and mounted in their proper places. Tomorrow comes the cabin wiring. Now I have a question for SFV and BZY and anyone else who has done this mod already: I want the mirrors to fold only when I manually push the "FOLD" button - for certain tight parking spots at work - otherwise to stay extended until commanded manually. Between SFV's and Machanon's and others' expertise, which wire(s) should I not tap / tap differently to achieve this? My calculations are that a). the puddle lights will illuminate puddles etc. better if the mirrors remain extended, and b). I only need to fold & unfold mirrors when I park at one certain building where the parking slots are unusually narrow. Any ideas are welcome here.

to archive what u want, don't tap the extra wht wire to the + door lock wire. this will keep the mirrors from folding when u lock the car.

now since u will use the bottom to fold the mirrors when u want, the button will be pushed in when u power on keeping the mirrors folded until u hit the button again.

Folks, now that I installed my folding / puddle light / turn signal mirrors, I have two sets of leftover parts: A). one pair of turn signal lenses WITHOUT the puddle light LEDs, and B). one pair of US OEM mirror housings, + OEM hinges + OEM covers. Free to a good home. New owner picks up items or pays for shipping. Pls PM me if interested - I'm in Northern Virginia.

OK Let me take some pics.

Two unanticipated PITAs during the install, despite excellent DIY Instructions from sfv41901 (original poster) and from Steve (URL = DIY: How to install JDM Prius power folding side mirrors | Balancing Act ). One: the famous blue wire in the A Pillar is not so easy to reach if your Prius has side airbags like my Pip Advanced does, because apart from the folded-up airbag the A Pillar cover now has these hard-to-release airbag-resistant security latchments on its hidden side. Two: each US OEM Prius non-motorized mirror hinge has a locating stud where it mates with the cast metal mirror support leg (right in the three Torx screw area). The OEM US Prius hinge base material is plastic. Both the plastic locating studs broke off in their holes inside the cast metal mirror legs (both mirrors) during disassembly. I had to pound these broken-off plastic studs out of the mirror cast leg bases so that the new JDM motorized hinge studs which are metal, could get on in there in their turn.
Other than that, just a good weekend tinkering mod.

hmm I wonder if I'll have this problem as I have the 2012 base model five that has the advanced technology package... I'm sure I have the side airbags as well
