True...I do seem to remember reviewers saying the 2012 Sonata is really an 'almost full sized' sedan when it came out.
Total volume is almost that of the last Taurus. Both are short of a Grand Marquis, both could be packaged better. I was a little surprised the Avalon wasn't a true full size. Though it and the Sonata could be a rounding error away of being the same size.
Ok so darn, our Sonata really is huge the and probably has substantially more room than the Camry. I'll have to say, the thing cruises on the interstate like a dream...it stays in overdrive and doesn't upshift on rolling hills like every other ICE vehicle we have ever owned. I also get 35-36 MPG on the freeway as well. Not too bad for such a huuuuuuuuuge car.
