the MSRP on a base Prius is, I believe, 22,175 (that's what I get at the toyota.com site, based on WA state)... so, why would they be quoting you 24522 on a base model? what is "close to invoice"? I'd suggest shopping around a little more YMMV
how is 26k+TTL for a package 6 non touring? michigan. total was like 27500 with taxes and all other stuff
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rae Vynn @ Jun 1 2007, 10:46 AM) </div> After the $500 discount the base price becomes $24,022. So that is the price before taxes and fees.
Dealers around Seattle, WA don't seem to be dealing much at all at the moment from what I can tell. We were quoted $27k for a 07 Touring with pkg #6 + T&L. I'm not sure it's great, but based on the Edmunds TMV price of $26900 + advertising fees of ~ $600 it doesn't seem like I'm getting fleeced. This is at Burien Toyota.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rae Vynn @ May 31 2007, 03:46 PM) </div> Update: Apparently, tax/license is cheaper? Just got a check back from the car dealer for another $60.25 "License refund" $23,662.21 That and the occasional $20s I find tucked into the sun visor...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(meridian506 @ Jun 4 2007, 06:24 PM) </div> I'm in Portland. When I was shopping around for prices on a Prius I checked with WA dealers as well. Burien quoted me $26,919 for a Touring Prius w/ package #6. If you are willing to drive some, Ron Tonkin Toyota in OR quoted me $26,728 on the same car (This came from Scott W. He's an internet salesguy. In fact, I ordered my non-touring w/ package 5 from him). You could ride the train down and spend all of $12 in gas to drive home to Seattle.
Here in NY, I have a deal for a pkg#2 for $22,300. I actually had a deal for $22K even - but from a dealer who said he didn't know when he could get me a car. I am supposed to pick up the $22,300 car next week (I have a VIN# already). Very excited - Silver Pine Mica, which you don't see frequently in these parts.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(nytimez @ Jun 6 2007, 03:59 PM) </div> nytimez, could you please email me the dealer and salesperson for your prius. I just left a deposit to have a Long Island dealer wait for an allocation for a package #2. I signed for a price of 22,995. I can get out of it with my deposit though. $700 is a big difference. Also where were you quoted 22K even? I don't mind waiting if they can't find what I am looking for. Please email me at Kristin
Northern NJ Paid $25,500 + TTL for a Black STD with Package #5. $750 below MSRP. It was a cash sale with no Trade in. I could have got it slightly cheaper with "carsdirect.com" or phoning more dealers. I'm happy with the price and delighted with the car.
Well, I'm banging my head against the wall. I went to a bunch of Toyota dealers and got a 07 Prius (package #3) for a little less than $28,000 (otd) which includes an alarm system. Now that I found this site, I really am depressed. I haven't had them install the alarm system yet. Should I even bother? They are charging $695 for it.
Tonight I picked up a 2007 Black package 5 for 23,999. 26,242 OTD. I live in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. I was getting quotes of 24.8 - 25.5 +TTL a few days prior. I'm stoked.
Here's a nicely formatted breakdown... 2007 Touring Magnetic Grey Package #6 & Z1 option MSRP 28142 $25800 + TTL $28098.51 OTD Options Declined Extended warranty @ $1975 Maintenance @ $1175 Caveat Also, they try to add $195 for Vin etching and during the signing he skipped over that line item. Saying they do that to all the cars....Told him to remove it since it hasn’t arrived yet! Conclusion I believe there are better deals out there but we were expecting to pay between $500-1k more for the Touring Magnetic Grey w/ #6. We were coming down from a Lexus IS so we wanted EVERYTHING!
2007 package 2 for $22,363 + tax & license. This was a no-haggle dealership, Avondale Toyota in Avondale, AZ.

I got my red mica metallic Prius business edition (I think that would be a package 5) for €29 900. The price included winter tires (with out studs), the metallic paint and the TPA800 package. The tires and the TPA800 was about €1050 each and the red color set me back €470. I got the car delivered a week ago and I'm so happy with my new car.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Tenebre @ Jun 12 2007, 05:00 PM) </div> How much is that in US dollars?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(priusmaybe @ Jun 12 2007, 11:10 PM) </div> € 29 900 = 39 916.5 U.S. dollars (according to google (just enter "€ 29 900 in usd" in the search field)).
2007 base model + package #5 $24002, OTD $26300 in San Jose, CA dealer still making $1000 on top of their real invoice, so possible another $200-$500 cut
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(madelynex @ Jun 1 2007, 08:42 AM) </div> This is an acceptable deal, and lower than all of the local "internet" quote, however, considering dealer is still making 1000+ on you, try to bargain another few hundred dollars off from it. BTW, I brought package 5 OTD 26300 at capital toyota on May 31, 2007
