Start of December, driving from San Jose to San Fran airport, I saw 35 priuses in about one hour
Since getting back to NZ, not including mine, I've seen two in about 5 weeks

Petrol stations have started offering down-payments on internal organs for fuel purchases, so you'd think they'd be more popular; except they're rather pricy - a brand new prius base model is about 110% of the average Kiwi salary

So true. I work in the Bay Area & I don't even count.
My neighbor has a classic model, and another two or three 2nd gens on my block.
Another 3 or 4 in the parking lot at work.
I see the 2nd gen ones constantly.
When driving, I probably have one within visible distance at all times!
Pretty sweet!

I commute from Frisco, TX into Addision, north of Dallas. I see 2 or 3 Prii each way of my commute. They seem to be catching on around here. However, I see just as many Hummers.
