how many of you have gotten speeding tickets in your prius

While driving around on the 4th with my wife ... shopping... we came up to a car on 290 pulled over by police officer, and noticed in my rear view mirror a flashing lights pulling over another speeder, and my wife said.... well at least I can be happy you won't be getting anymore speeding tickets while you're driving your prius...

I was stopped for going 70 in a 55 zone (was getting tailgated and trying to pass another car in order to let the guy behind me pass in a very short 2-lane passing zone) by the CHP. The officer laughed about pulling over a Prius for speeding and let me off with a promise to be careful after hearing my story. Since moving back to CA 13 years ago, that's the only instance I know of (myself, wife, friends) of anyone getting out of a ticket upon pullover.

I have gotten a speeding ticket in my Prius. I live in a speed trap infested city and a Prius is sneaky
fast. I have a Valentine radar detector installed on the dash. I usually drive around the speed limit on the freeway to help my mileage but I did get my Prius up to 94 mph once (took a while).

I have gotten pulled over and ticketed 3 times in my Prius.

I believe that was a Mercury Mariner Hybrid, wasn't it?

 

Just got pulled over again Saturday night 50 in a 40 mph zone oops!
In a hurry to meet someone, City cop, He checked my license and ins card. told me to slow down and let me go, 3rd time I have been let off with a warning! Guess I'll have to watch it.

cops don't seem to care as I fly past them doing 80 in my seaside blue pearl prius....now if I do 60 in a 50 in my 95 white Acura Legend, the cops just want to play follow the leader with me

 

Been pulled over in the Prius once for "taking a turn too fast." I was making a turn from a 55 MPH zone into a 45 MPH zone, making the turn probably around 25-30 MPH.

I am actually a much more responsible driver behind the wheel of the Prius.

Have gotten tickets for 80 in a 55, 80 in a 65 x 2, 77 in a 55, and maybe a few others. (Camaro Z28)

Once pegged the speedometer in the Z28 at 150+. Glad I survived that speed run, also glad that I didn't get pulled over. Will never, ever, do that again in my life.

 

I did 140+ in my old Lexus gs400 once...even with race suspension and sticky tires on dry hot sunny pavement is scary ....even not worrying about cops the fact that anything in the road means almost immediate death upon impact...

Doing under 110 seems so much safer lol....my comfort speed is 85
