Yes, I have my thoughts on each...and we were going to wait to a get a used 2024+ however fate is forcing our hand so there isn't was much luxury of the ideal and it is more of a pragmatic approach - what can we afford of what is available that won't be as likely to impose expensive repairs. You'll notice there was no mention of color for example.

Of these, which would you choose for yourself and why?

Why, and what is the scoop on heat exchangers? Which years, pricing etc?

some of the early ones leaked. by the time the temp light comes on, the engine is blown.
and of course, toyota tried to blame owners until the problem became big enough for a tsb.
there are many threads here, kinda like the dead 12 volt battery threads.

    I never noticed those threads...thank you @bisco and @Mendel.
HA! My PIP would encounter a dead battery out the blue quite a few times to the point where I purchased a mini-jumper set to have handy for the occasion. Didn't know it was a broader issue.

on the pip, it is usually a situation of not driving enough. on the prime, it is a situation of the car draining the battery overnight for a variety of reasons.
have you posted in the prime forum asking advice about early primes?

No, it is looking like the model being purchased might be 2020 (remote possibility of a 2021)
