I might have to get the tape measure out for this one. :D

Assuming I leave from the kitchen, which is usually my last stop before leaving for work, my office is about 20 feet down the hallway. The commute's much easier, though not as interesting, since the cat moved out. (A long story. Maybe when there's a cat thread I'll elaborate)

Lately, I've been spending more time in client's offices than my own. The furthest is about a 5 km round trip, and I say hello to Silver as I walk by.

Way back when, I commuted to university by motorcycle. For about a week. It took me longer to walk from the parkade to class than it did to ride my bike from home, so I left the vroom bike at home and used the pedal bike.

65 RT, once per week. Downhill in, uphill out.

Yeah, what happened to that whale's nosewheel? I hope there wasn't a bag smasher under there becoming a smashee!

60 miles, 30 mi each way. Prius earns 50+ mpg in winter, 60+ mpg in summer. Sirius satellite radio and CDs make the drive a nice way to mentally gear up and unhook each day. In clear, dry weather I ride my Trek 5200 the final 9 miles and park the Prius at the 21 mi mark.

I've been taking the freeway: 15.9 mi (about 24 mins).
When I reverse directions, google puts me on backroads (39mph): 12.1 mi (about 25 mins)

Now I know this sounds like a no-brainer, but I carpool with one other guy and we meet near the freeway. So, really I guess my "Everyday" miles should be halved. Anyway, I'm a bit conflicted about these and other issues related to our commute, like they're also closing our Park and Ride. I feel like this is the point I should be asking for prayer...

About 40 mi daily round-tripp plus another 25/30 for daily service business (mostly in EV)
    I went from a $160 V-8 weekly guzzler van to a $25.00 lovely Prius a week.

47 miles each way - 50% scenic hwy at 62mph up 'n' down mountain passes, 49% interstate at 80mph, 1% city streets. In the first week of owning my Prius I've averaged 45.4mpg. Commuting in to work I go from an altitude of 5000 ft down to about 2,000 - so my avg. mpg is well in the high 50's, but the uphill commute back to the ranch reverses that gain. Still, I'm real happy with what I'm getting - it's a darn sight better than the 17.3 I was getting in my F-150!

    Well you forgot 0 (zero)!

I walk to the office in the back bedroom and work from there.

My Poor Prius sits until I need to Mom Mobile and then I'm off! To the PO Box and some light shopping 5 miles on the busy days.

Luckily, I take care of my mom two days a week and she lives 35 miles away. So the car does get a work out.

Otherwise, my gas mileage would really s**k. :p

37 miles on the nose each way for me from Surprise to Tempe, AZ and back almost every day. I work from home where possible though. I get between 49-53mpg per screen on that commute, and have once by keeping it between 55-65mph, gotten close to 60mpg on a tank.

Prius is the only car for me for this kind of drive - creature comforts + great MPG. Just sad that I'll likely wear it out before I'm ready to trade up.

As my name suggests I drive Route 1 about 28 miles each way to work and back.
The Prius has actually made commuting much more enjoyable and interesting.

When stuck in those mind numbing delays at the lights I try to stay in stealth mode and stay with the traffic.

I also have to gun it to avoid being run over by several of the others that think its a race track. Have learned to bring the car to speed quickly so I can cruise and bring the MPG up into the 75 range.

On the down side I have noticed that there are a few drivers that seem to have a thing about the Priuses. Have had a number of them pull out in front of me, something they would never do to any other car. Have also had a few continuously try to block me from passing form the left or right side. That just happened jesterday.

The most enjoyable is crusing next to a large SUV seeing that I'm going at 75MPG while hearing the SUV engine whining and sucking gas.
