Nice look swaggingprius! I was wondering if you could post some pics with your PC fog lights and HID's low beams turned on. I just added HID's and thinking about doing the fog lights. A bit concerned about the difference in light looking strange though.

You crazy kids and your lowered cars....

In my day, you just bought cars. Maybe they had an AM radio in it. Maybe not. And how high off the ground they were, was as high off the ground they were.

I'm telling ya, you get older and your prostrate starts to enlarge...proper stance has nothing to do with vehicle suspension.

Ahh..go ahead...scrape the dew off the pavement...what do I care? I'll beat you to the open parking space while you are slowly inching your way over the speed bump....

It wasn't that. With the rapid advancements of air ride technology, hydraulics are not really around anymore, except for ghetto blasters and hoopties. I have a friend with them on his '64 impala, but most everyone else stopped using them 10-15 years ago. They are incredibly messy, heavy and require a trunk full of batteries... Not to mention they ride like crap. You can however jump rope with them.. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJr48sjvz-E&feature=player_embedded"]OPJ in HOT ROPE - jumping sequence - YouTube[/ame]

Air ride systems are much lighter, less intricate and if setup properly can actually improve handling.

    Will do.

I can tell you that the fogs are 2500K or 3000K; therefore yellow halogen bulbs. The headlights are HIDs, I cannot remember if 5 or 6000K; therefore white. I only turn the fogs when there are weather issues, such as fog, rain, snow, etc. I originally installed HID in the fogs, but quickly realized that HIDs in NON projected case is a big no-no. There is too much dispersion, making it annoying to incoming drivers, dangerous, and by far less efficient that just sticking to halogen.

I'm almost 50 but I like a slightly lowered car since the factory setting looks too high to me. I've been buying cars for 30+ years & have always liked a little lower look but I also think that the slammed look looks stupid. I love my Eibach springs as I feel they provide the perfect stance without worrying about speed bumps & the handling improvement is great. :D

    Too each their own.

I really don't have a dog in this hunt. I'm just joking.

But I do think it is funny that often the justification is "Factory Setting Don't Look Right"...or purely or primarily cosmetic.

I assume that in the designing of the entire vehicle a lot of thought goes into what the factory suspension is going to be.

And maybe I am sounding "old" but? There was a time not so long ago, where if you're vehicle was sitting low? It meant there was something wrong.

Now? It's become the "cool" thing to do.

And some people will cite performance improvements. Fine...okay...

But I tend to think suspension mods, like audio and electronic modifications have replaced engine modifications.

Todays engines are not easily modified. Tinkered with. So? We default to what we CAN do. Change the suspension, update the speakers...change the HU.

If you like it? If you perceive a benefit? More power to you. Enjoy.

I kinda think the "OEM" stance...looks fine to me.

If you drove a stock Prius & one that has suspension upgrades like Eibach springs you would then understand all the fuss, it's a very noticeable difference.

My 09 Corolla S is the same way, mine handles like it's on rails now compared to a stock Corolla. I drove a stock rental Corolla S that my nephew had rented & I couldn't believe the difference when driving them back to back. :D

I like your drop MR2. I haven't followed your build so can you summarize what you did with your suspension? PM me if you want. I'm a total noob when it come to this so dumb it down :)

On my Prius I have added the Eibach springs only. I just ordered a Tanabe front strut brace & 2-point chassis brace along with a TRD rear sway bar. They were such great additions on my 09 Corolla that I went ahead & ordered them for the Prius too. In the picture I have my 16x7 +35mm offset winter wheels & tires from my 07 Corolla just to see how they looked.

Ok, this is the part that sucks. I avoid my driveway as much as possible since the slope is a bit too high. I can back up going sideways to get the least amount of rub.

    What I would like to ask, for those that have lowered their cars;
how do you go about using service ramps, lift ramps, and whathaveyou? There has been more than one place that has turned me down because we cannot get the car up the lift (wheel alignment, and so forth). In a shop today, they suggested having 4 boards about the width of the tires and use is as a "step ladder." I probably will go to Home Depot for a set.

The biggest question is, if you are ever in the need for a tow truck, how will it get up on the flatbed? What have you done to address this?

    Cheers!

My car is only lowered 1". I wanted around 2", but do not want to face the battles you are referring to. So far, parking blocks are my only enemy.

My driveway has some slant to it as you can see in this picture but I've not had any issues with any thing with my 1.1" drop of my Eibach springs. :)
