I ordered a couple days ago and dealer is thinking it should be in late July. Ordered a prime upgrade and tech in white. It sounds like it comes to dealer allotments and if they exceeded them for the year or not. My dealer is allotted 3 primes a year and ours was number 2. Also said year to date 74% of allotments for Canada were filled and Atlantic Canada gets a small percentage of that. I’m in Central Newfoundland. I paid MSRP minus federal rebate. No “market adjustment”
What kind of battery range are you getting with these different ranges in outdoor temps? I wonder too if charging L1 vs L2 helps the battery last longer as I'm sure it remains cooler.
For me, the minimum winter range is 0 since at temp in the -20C or lower, the engine will come on. But if I can get the battery warm up and can drive in EV mode, then about 18 miles is what I expect in the middle of winter which is about 50% reduction from summer time high of 36 miles. I have a thread on extreme cold performance with the older Gen 3 but not the Prime. In short, there's no need to worry. Like @eow says, the 12V just starts up the computer. The electric motor acts as the starter motor and has no problem turning over the engine even at -40. Oh that's disappointing. I used my EBH with my Gen 3 religiously and managed to keep a 4.9L/100km lifetime average over 160,000km.
There’s a few around. I see another one driving around town, and know of another on order. There’s a few in St Johns also, but they are quite rare to see. We are replacing a ‘15 Highlander Limited, we recognize space will be limited but fuel savings will be nice. I have 2 small children which I’m sure they’ll be fine in the backseat. Also have a ‘18 tundra crewmax for trips where we need more space. Tons of great inspiration on this site I have to say! Some of the wheel and tire combos and accessories are excellent!
Just ordered mine on the past weekend in Ottawa (upgrade version, white) sales told me wait time approx. 9 months. And they only can order the 2023 model for me. Hope there's no big price increase.
that's crazy, seems like everyone is being told different time lines, I've been told between 12 weeks to 8 months from different dealers in my city of Calgary. I don't know who's even close right now.
No but I suppose there's a timeframe where the ordering books for 2022 will be closed so that the factory can finish building the orders then do whatever it needs to prepare for the 2023 models.
They typically start making the new model year in August, but this changes if there is a redesign. I highly doubt we will see a Prius Prime redesign this year. I ordered in late February, and I'm still waiting.
I just received this email from my dealer minutes ago...I placed my order approx 2.5 weeks ago. "I’m writing you this email because Toyota Canada has reached out to us in regards to cuts in production: “Unfortunately your file was cut by Toyota Canada at this time” If you would like to continue with your order, we will need to re-order with Toyota Canada. Or if you would like a refund we totally understand"
man i feel lucky. i decided in mid feburary I wanted to upgrade my 21 prime to a 22 limited. Got lucky in early March when a dealer who had one on the lot had the buyer back out. had car in hand by mid-march.
No 2023 isn't out yet, but my sales said they can't order 2022 anymore, that's why they order 2023 for me.. after ordering, how long will be get any kind of notification?
