At my local Toyota dealership, they charge $70.00 for the oil change and tire rotation along with all the checks because of living in the desert. Our normal high of 100+ degrees. However if I get just the oil change. Its $24.95. I will be saving $45.00 every 5000 miles!! Average time would be 1.5 months for each oil change for me. With just getting my oil chaanged I get a free car wash and also WILL NOT VOID THE WARRANTY. Check with your service department and see what they charge for the basics. Most cars can go 7500 miles before an oil change, ask why your car can't. JW

I had actually decided to keep the prepaid maintenance plan (basically $50 x 8 for oil changes and inspections) that I had discussed above based on the numbers some had posted here, until the package arrived in the mail today. It wasn't red and silver - and it wasn't good at every dealer. It was the colors of the dealership and redeemable only there - 2 hours away!

This was not "please bring your car to xxxxx dealer" - this was "redeemable only at xxxxx dealer." Their silver and blue coupons emblazened with their logo sure looked nothing like the red and white "redeemable at any Toyota dealer" ones they showed us when we agreed to sign up.

This was bait and switch - because being 2 hours away from them I specifically asked what I was buying. I have been otherwise pleased with this dealer (and their service people) and hope that the finance guy can make it right. Presently I'm waiting for the call back to decide whether we're going to cancel only the prepaid maintenance part, or if we're cancelling both the maintenance and the warranty and re-buying the warranty through this site.

Grrrr. Package was waiting for me in today's mail and I opened it right as my wife wrapped up the phone survey and gave them all excellents!
