I still think Garmin is the best solution for GPS needs.

As for the entertainment, all I need is a Bluetooth paired phone or a USB thumb drive with my favorite mp3 files. My AM radio listening days are over. I can't find any good local stations around where I live now. On a cloudy day, I can still catch WBZ NewsRadio 1030, but after David Brudnoy passed away, I have not listened to that station for 16 years.

We're blessed with commercial-free CBC AM radio, a blend of topical, human-interest, news, music. Is there anything comparable in the States?

NPR is commercial-free, but once or twice a year (?), they have a fundraising campaign. Many NPR stations are FM, but there are some AM stations as well. I don't listen to political news anymore, so NPR ONE app and podcast will do for me.

All I need for "entertainment" and GPS is: NOTHING that is not built into the car.
    BOTH options should be available.

When shopping for my next car.....er..vehicle....I won't consider anything that requires an external device for the "standard" features to work.
