How America Keeps Its Citizens Uneducated

You just have to see up close and personal the state of public education over a few generations to know that there are problems that could be resolved if it wasn’t for the pushing of new theories and aggressive parent groups

 

Not sure I'm following you on the 'aggressive parent group thing' but since my daughter traded her DOD job for a teaching gig I have to say that I have learned a thing or two about a thing or two.
My church's kids are about 50% public school, 30% private school and 20% home schooled.
I really do not detect much of a difference scholastically between the first two but the private school kids tend to have better outcomes because they have more involved parents AND the school has the ability to kick unruly students out.

Our home school kids are both much better and a little worse.
They're far and away the smartest and have the most self discipline - BUT some of them miss valuable life lessons that you can only learn in school.

Somehow, we in the good old USofA managed to get along for - what? 110 years without an Education Department and I suspect that outcomes were better in those years than they are now......
