I actually never wanted a homelink mirror, just homelink switches.. Added the switches to the map light console, but did not have time to do the wiring because I just left for vacation. See pic of install in my progress thread in my signature..

Please let us know when you said plug-n-play does that mean you just connected a harness somewhere? Can you share a tad more how you did it since it sounds like your technique was even less stress than having to run lengths of wires and searching for the proper hot connections

    Thanks !

I have installed the EC mirror - with Homelink and compass - on my Gen 3 European Prius. I have ordered it from PriusChat shop. There was no installation manual and what I have found was a bit confusing for me. So I put it here how I have done it, may help for others. (Sorry for my English, I'm not native speaker.)

First of all, the mirror is a GNTX-536 and it has a the following pinouts:
    1. Black - GND
    2. Not connected
    3. Green - 12V
    4. White - 12V Switched
    5. Grey - to control EC side mirror, not used (Automatic Day/Night Mirror Signal - Outside)

The package contained everything needed for installation except the tools - although I needed only a philips screw driver. I've found that the PT374- 47100 installation manual fits the best, although there is a similar one for 00016-47100.
The only problem is the cable between the mirror and the power source. It's a 3 wire black cable where one wire has white stripe on it. As you can see on the picture, the white striped wire is the 12V switched, the middle wire is the fix 12V, and the black on the side is the GND - it has also has ring terminal.

Unfortunately the middle wire needs to be the short, so it was almost like 3 separate cable.

The diversion to the documentation is that the fix 12V is not shorter wire and the GND has the ring terminal.
    So I used:
    • the L132 connector's grey wire for switched 12V (mirror remote switch)
      Mirror_L132_12V_Switch.jpg
    • the ground close to the mirror switch - picture Mirror_GND
      Mirror_GND.jpg
    • and the red wire of U3 (pin 20, or U13 pin 24 if you have sliding roof)
      Mirror_U3_U13_12V.jpg
The Homelink uses the permanent 12V, while compass and EC are using the switched one. (Homelink really doesn't use much power, although I have not measured it. Compass and EC mirror switched on use ~175mA, when mirror is getting dark or light it eats ~400mA.

I have measured the current used by Homelink: it's 0 when no button pressed and ~45 mA when the button pressed.

How about the current draw for auto dim? My OCD forces me to turn off the auto during daytime driving button to conserve milliamps.

Edit: never mind, saw 400 mA. Thanks for the info.
