So you average 30k plus a year, it looks like. When you have your loan paid off, if you keep driving "her" , how many miles will you have on her?
2012 Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid Base 4dr Hatchback In Union City GA - BMVW Auto Sales 116k miles, $11,500 at a local dealer
I good Prius will last 300k miles easy if you can do it in 10 years. I think time is the enemy as much as miles.
World’s Highest Mileage Tesla Model S Hits 120,000 Miles, Still Going Strong - Gas 2 ok it aint a PiP - but seeing all the other off topics ... this guy is averaging over 3k miles/month - all electric. Story came from a half year ago, so he's likely over 140k miles now. My rear gets sore just thinking about it. .
All of you high-mileage types, there... I'm considering buying a 2012 PIP Advanced with 50K for $16,700... Am I crazy, or should I expect 8-10 years solid reliability?
Great idea ...these deals were just not there 6 months ago, Just make sure you do due diligence to make sure you find any hidden issues. Seems we are hearing similar deals out there. You got hybrid warranty to 100k miles and 8 years so that's decent, and we really have not heard many issues at all with PiP.
Thank you for the feedback! They said they'll provide the "AutoCheck" report, which seems like a CarFax knock-off... they bought it at an auction after a lease return, and have driven it for about 5000 miles, and say they always have a Prius on their lot, because they like it/them so much... So, good signs, I guess? It's a small mom n' pop shop, not a private party, and not a big dealer... kinda not sure how I feel about that. Anyway... Thank you!
i would say hope for 8 years, be prepared for potential large repairs and 10 years trouble free would be icing on the cake.
The asking price is VERY good. Advance model was almost 7k above base PiP while new. I sold my 2012 with 30K miles at 16.2k about 3 months ago on a CARB state with 150k Miles/10 years warranty.
