Agree. That's how I took the post. Complaining about a big purchase such as an automobile and its lack of features after taking delivery is silly.

In DC area, The FFH is heavily discounted. Some dealers offer 0% financing for 60 months. I shopped for one but they wouldn't give me both reabate and 0% financing. Instead, I bought a 2010 Prius V with Nav Package for $600 below invoice with 0% financing for 36 month.

My only two minor gripes are:
    1) Coin Tray design is wierd.
    2) USB port location is little funky. It should be near the heated seat switches, IMO

I think it's somewhat unfair to call II's and III's "stripped down" models. As Prius they are the obviously the lower rung of Prius purchase...BUT comparitively all Prius as one of Toyota's Benchmark cars..are better equipped than most other cars.

What comes standard on a Prius II or III is often an extra on most other automobiles.

Plus in comparison to Gen 2, Toyota did decide to spread the rungs of the ladder out a little wider..

IMO there really is no "stripped down" Prius. Just look at the brochure or available equipment chart. The differences exist...Wheels, Tires, Leather, Heated Seats, Tech PKG and Solar roofs (Radio, Stereo, Bluetooth)...in different combinations...but overall...a Prius II or III is comparable to a very well equipped vehicle in any other class. ....that was a big pull for me to consider buying a Prius...I think II's and III's are actually excellent values...although I've noticed throught the year that the price seems to be creeping up...

Besides this poster wasn't really complaining about the absence of any high end ammenities...this poster was mostly complaining about the differences between what he had within his Gen 2 and what is different of missing in His Gen 3.

    Why?

Trust me, I just enjoy researching my automobile purchases. If I have the time and am not in an emergency rush. I researched my current purchase for about a year and a half.

But I can tell you, doesn't matter how much you research, or how much you know....you are still going to discover things with ownership that you both like and dislike that you did not foresee.

Talking about an automobile (The Prius) and it's features...is kind of a big part of this whole site wouldn't you say?

I kind of miss the in dash storage my 2003 Matrix had and the larger in door storage. Don't miss the crappy 30 mpg (tongue in cheek.)

Is the FFH vaporware? I looked for one to compare and couldn't find one. When I look at Fuelly-dot-com, there are still 3 2010 FFH owners tracking their mileage. The number hasn't gone up. Compare that to the hundred plus 2010 Prius owners that are tracking their mileage on fuelly.com.

It seems to me that the FFH might be just for sales bait and switch. If you really want to wait and pay premium price, you can get one.

When you go in to a Toyota dealer, you can only get a Prius as a hybrid. Not as a four cylinder, not as a six cylinder, just as a hybrid.

Up to the FFH owners to prove me wrong. Start posting numbers.

Unless the dealership gives you a one week test drive, do you really know what you're getting into?
