So, what was the reading? Or is it just a scale from Low to High?

With a laboratory-grade Gauss meter, assuming one can sneak such an expensive piece of equipment out of the lab (Don't ask, as I don't kiss and tell), one will find unusual "hotspots" all over the house. Eg in the bedroom, especially near the tv

Depending on how often you talk on the cell phone, that can be a significant portion of total daily exposure. With cell phones and pda's, the RF portion is what I worry about

There has been much hype and hysteria over the Prius. However, considering how many are used as taxi cabs, with drivers sitting in them for 8-12 hours a day, such as Duffy's Taxi in Winnipeg, one would expect the drivers to be dropping like flies, assuming there really is a problem

Risk, it's all relative. Some things we can control, many things we cannot. IMHO the Prius does not represent any unusual risk

Oh, do you use cordless phones in your home? How about a wireless router to access the Internet? A BlueTooth headset? Are you within a mile of a radio tower or cell phone tower?

Again, risk: it's all relative. You could just live in a cave and not worry about it. Oh, wait a minute, you'd probably be exposed to dangerous levels of radon. Never mind ....

Not really. Its just ranks up there with:
    911 conspiracy theories
Moon Mission doubters (who are getting way too much press now)
    anti-evolutionists

I just stumbled at this old post, just want to add that I drive my 2006 Prius for almost 5 years, and my 40 year old Rolex still runs great and as accurate as before I drove the Prius.

What's a watch? Is it like a cell phone you duct tape to your wrist?

No duct tape. The best ones are tied onto your wrist with bits of dead animals. (JLC is my favorite)

I collect vintage and antique wrist and pocket watches. I've never had one affected by the EM field inside my Prius, and that includes 100+ year old wristlets. Unlike the Rolex mentioned above, those early ones were not antimagnetic.

I've got a 1950s era automatic watch in my trunk, just above the battery pack. It's still accurate (within 3 seconds daily), and showing no signs of degradation after several months of exposure.

I recommend you adopt the concept of "Island Time". The party (or work, if you'll pardon the 4 letter word) starts when you get there.
