I'm not going to do your searching for you.
And since when does any routine maintenance have any bearing on water pump failures ?

My comment was regarding water pumps on ALL Prius models. You may very well be right that the ones on C's fail less often.......but it might also be that those failures are just REPORTED less in places like this.......because there are a LOT fewer C's on the road.

"My searching" for me? I always thought it was up to the person making claims to back up what they say with relevant links, etc.

Oh, on "all" Prius models. The last time I checked, this was a Prius C forum.
Why relate to all Prius models on a Prius C forum?

So the C DOES have a thermostat. I had read conflicting information at the time and after doing a water pump change. It looks like this below where the upper hose clamps. It is built into this housing below with the drain.

Also, the electric water pump does eventually wear fail. You can feel the resistance once you spin the blades of the old one vs new. After speaking with Prius techs on it, it starts to slow down and eventually turns very difficultly. Should be changed every 80k Miles BEST 100k Miles Good. I would not go past 150k Miles personally as the risk to the head gaskets is great with hot spots. It does not just fail typically but as it's dying, it will take out the head gasket.

I also did the invert pump as well just for preventive. I'll do the thermostat housing on the next fluid change in a few years.
